Its all relative. But I'm guessing the point he was making is that the Golf is big car for what it is, bearing in mind the original intention of the Golf GTI is a nimble hot hatch. From Mark III onwards it got terribly fat and overweight:)

Jeepers, I think I'd like to have you along with me to give a hand if I was buying a used car or a house or anything relatively expensive really. I appreciate were talking a sub €1k car but think its just terrible the way the rims were painted that colour. Personally think it would look so much nicer and original if they were left the way Alfa Romeo intended.

I'm guessing not a whole lot of them manage to reel off that kind of mileage

Old diesel

What platform is under that Proton - was it a new platform or is it based on the old 92 to 96 Mitsubishi Lancer - there was a model before that Impian - the Persona (later called Wira) which was based on - and had the same styling as the 92 to 96 model Lancer - but with a Colt front end.

If the Impian has the same Lancer platform - then it wouldn't really be any safer then a similar priced Corolla tbh.

Thought that probably doesn't matter a big deal at 750 euros to be fair

That Proton looks alright actually(reminds of a 90s Audi for some reason), i'd rather have that than an old Corolla which would cost about the same, more modern and probably a lot safer. Drive it til the tax runs out and throw it away.

The red one looks infinitely cleaner to me. I also think the ten interior is a good bit nicer, a welcome break from the black and grey of a normal VW. The one that you linked also has HIDs in reflector lights :rolleyes:

Modifications are anything fitted to a car that isn OEM.

factory options are therefore not modifications.
A higher trim level that included factory options may in some cases attract a higher insurance premium than a lower trim level that did not have such factory options, but are not modifications.
