In a word, no. The d5 wasn't even available in the S80 at launch. If that came tractor powered from the factory it'll be the original VAG 2.5tdi. Word in the 90's was that Volvo wanted to badge their cars with a single number after the S or V but VAG got wind of it as they had plans in train for the S variants of their A cars and threatened to stop the supply of the 2.5tdi if Volvo didn't change tack.

I thought that head gasket either is OK or is not OK.

Is there a way to tell if head gasked replacement is imminent ?

That's a great bargain, looks very well minded so it'll go on an on if looked after, and it's an Auto which IMO is the proper box for a car like that, very few toys so even less to go wrong and in black which makes it handy for resale.

If you're looking for a car for a couple of years pick that up for €1100, you'll loose next to nothing on it over that time, and it's a classy bus to get in and out of every day.

Well the toyotas 4Age sounds miles better than most and are plenty of fun:cool: and the ae86 are a far better driving experience than most other cars of the day but cant touch a mk2 16v gti golf on the straights or in the bends either mate sorry.

It's not bad looking when compared to other 7 seaters
But it sounds like it has some king of engine fault (Lacking power. Sold as seen) so not really bangernomics unless you are good at diagnosing such faults.
