Not surprised Nodin is trying to justify terrorist sponsored murder since Adams is part of the guard of honour at Mandela's funeral. The IRA did not begin the "troubles". Which again, raises the issue of why you can't direct your ire at those responsible.

Like it or not the terrorism you refer to is how this, and many other countries, came into existence.

And as for no just cause to launch the troubles, what do you expect people to do when they are being burned out of their homes and forced to live as second class citizens, be grateful for it and bow down???

The troubled were a result of the 'Protestant state for a Protestant people' policy, nothing else.

Not what I was saying. More and more see the correct nature of the Republican movement as time goes on. Abroad, where many have had their own struggles for independence in far more recent times, they've a far better perspective on such matters.

...but of course they did. They responded to peaceful attempts at protest with violence, after decades of intermittent suppressive violence and discrimination. There is only so much people can tolerate.

A desire that is very much still live today by the unionist population.

Context is everything: During the troubles when the IRA were in full murdering mode and the body parts were being scraped off the pavements, Sinn Fein were at a very low ebb (and the SDLP were riding high in Nationalist opion polls), then the IRA stopped their evil campaign and Sinn Fein slowly gained political credability, precisely because they began to adopt (steal) the SDLPs peaceful march towards a resolution to the Northern Ireland troubles (perpetrated by the PIRA).
