A few sites are speculating that Sony will be announcing the successor to the PS3 at the press event 'Destination Playstation' on February 25.

I figure it's probably a long shot but didn't they do something similar with the announcement of the Vita at a separate event? Personally, I think it would make perfect sense to get excitement going now about their new console so that when E3 rolls around they can spend the entire show promoting upcoming games.

I thought the EU had laws in place covering product warranties anyway so maybe they are not needed.

That'd be it, we get better consumer protection under law than sony would offer under warranty.

only one year manufacturer's warranty and two years sellers warranty (uk anyway), stand to be corrected on that, but the US gets to have an additional 48 months on their console for 50-60 quid if they so wish. That should apply here also, we spent our hard earned money on the same product so we should be entitled to the same offers, sven if they are more expensive than the US.

Using the excellent (most of it) info and help on this thread I got Currys in Derry to replace a nearly four year old PS3. Now it took a few calls, emails to CEOs, letters and politely and carefully worded ultimatums. In the end they made sure I knew they replaced it as a goodwill gesture, not because they "legally had to". I think the european warranty thing pretty much trumps any guarantee from a retailer or manufacturer.

Is there any way of pausing downloads , started downloading warframe and warthunder last night , now its taking an age to download bf4 update and ps4 update ,

not yet, only way i found to do it was disconnect the internet to the ps4,all downloads will show fail or unable to download, Then just click on which one you want to download and hit retry. It will download that one only, until you select the next one to retry

I remember thinking that was way overboard and then some more, with even more after.

I don't think they will do the same with Sony. The congratulations posts on the launch on Facebook were fairly decent. Best buds.

I wouldn't be too concerned. For one thing they don't really have much to give out about it.

Also that's a completely different department and that is also a very Americanized ad.

Yes there is, go to the notifications tab and then into downloads and that's your download manager menue. You can start, stop and queue up all you like there. There is even an uploads manager menue in there too, it's all covered.

I've never had BF4 crash on me yet. Maybe I'm special but I don't have any of the bugs others are reporting, my single player progress is fine and intact.
