Labour Saving and General Guntering

How about using this thread to show off our engineering skills (or lack of!)
A lot of us have home made or improvised labour saving tools / implements lying around. Similar to stuff in Farmers Journal labour saving compettions. (without the prize money:p).

Maybe we could use this thread to share interesting ideas and discuss improvements.

I don't have any pictures at the moment of my own but I will take some at the weekend if not before.

My own projects include:
Quick hitch for front loader (fairly rough but works), designed to fit Trima implements onto MF loader.
Adapter to fit bale lifter onto front loader.
Various other loader attachments spikes etc.

Current project is a wrapped bale transporter being built out of remains of an old Muck Spreader. (only just started, currently just an axle and draw bar).

Their maybe other stuff around too, I'll have to have a look.

So what are peoples opinions, is this a good idea for a thread?

I'm not going to be more specific just to say that it happened. From something I typed online two people working for the state arrived to my door, without any prior contact with me. Out of the blue.

No one has to believe me, I'm not pushing it on anyone. I would be safe in saying Iver has nothing to worry about. But if someone were to admit something serious online (wasn't my case, but was related to a serious matter), then don't be surprised if you get a knock too. Out of the blue.

In fairness Conmaicne are people really trying to be anonymous? I think most people on here give enough away about themselves to be fairly easily identifiable.

Anyway if they turned up at your door only for that reason then the stasi/kjb are alive and well in Ireland.

lads, ye have to realise that every computer, laptop, phone, ipad, tablet that you use can be traced. Everything you talk about on your phone can be monitored. Everything you type and upload to the internet can be traced back to your internet connection and to your machine. If you think you are anomyous you are highly mistaken!

My post was in relation to the thinking that it's a myth and doesn't happen. I'm not worried about people being identified, there's no problem in that in itself. It's the lad who might naively think he's talking to his friends in a quiet corner at the mart and might admit something he shouldn't.

this is very true and i know it for a fact, cant explain too much but ive seen it in action plus had dealings with it

Was sitting in Court one day, waiting my turn. A young lad was up ahead of me, had gone out contracting and lost a packet. Solicitor for the finance company was arguing with the judge to try and get hold of other machinery, currently in his yard. Judge was not allowing it, as the other items were his late fathers, and by extension, now his mothers property. solicitor then started down the track that the young lad was selling off machines for cash, and could well afford to pay. He denied this. Solicitor then produced print-outs from Done Deal, and proved that the phone number given was linked to the young fellow, and that he was using the name on the ad as a psudenem . He was able to prove the machine was his mothers property, but it was touch and go for a minute. A lot depended on the fact that the Solicitor had pissed off the judge 5 minutes beforehand in the previous case.

I really don't get it though. If you don't want what you say here to be linked to you then don't say it, but why close an account over it? That doesn't help anything other than maybe stop you saying anything else in the future. But it isn't just Boards. All emails, all forum posts, private messages, anything digital like text messages, there is a copy somewhere. Even if it's deleted it's still there, it just takes the right person to find it.
Actually, funny story, someone asked me to track an email for them that was sent from an "anonymous" account and it tracked to some corner of a city over in Canada. I was fully sure it had to be wrong, that it was being sent through a proxy or something, but when I went back and told them the address they said they knew exactly who it was. At the end of the day it was only a joke, but if you can track an email to the other end of the globe with very little technical knowledge there's a lot more that can be done by people who actually know about this stuff, or law enforcement.
