This is from a friend, but one who doesn't have a history of talking crap. He's Australian and he told me about another Australian friend of his called Matthew:

When he was in his late teens, his parents had a very bitter and protracted divorce, with him in the centre of a very unpleasant custody case. He ended up basically telling both of his parents to **** off, and that as soon as he was 18 (or whatever the age would be there) that he was out of their lives forever. So, as soon as he was legally allowed, he changed his family name from whatever it was to Fantastic, so he is now officially called Matthew Fantastic. Also, while he was at it, he decided to add something else, so he can now say this and be technically correct - 'my middle name is Dangerous.'

I know two people called Crea. When I asked about the name being unusual I was told it was from Irish - Croí Dé - God's Heart. The English version came about as Crea.

Back in France I had a friend called Prune (a girl). In France it's not the wrinkled fruit, it's the fresh fruit that's called une prune. Still.

My girlfriend's sister's soon to be brother in law named his first child Wolf. They all think its a great name but I feel sorry for the kid as let's be honest, it's a stupid name and the kids in for years of bullying.
