PS4 Pre-Order Thread! Where are you getting yours?

Just wondering where boardies are going to get their PS4's? Are they going to buy it online? Buy it from the likes of Gamestop/Smyths/HMV/Xtravision? Or going Amazon/other online retailers?

Just a little update lads for walk ins

The ps4 Won't be in Argos Until the 6th of december followed by the xbox one which will be in the stores on the 9th december

Thats their expected delievery dates. hopefully its sorted and put back too the 29th but I think their was a mix up with sony and ms regarding how many units, so who knows hopefuly they arrive on the days of release

Was just offered bundles from Amazon, only ordered about a week ago. Now I'm saving £20 and getting the camera and everything I was ordering anyway. Chuffed.

Oh, this is why they were mentioning that if you cancel an order and then make a new one.

I got the same email. If we upgrade to the bundle do we lose the before xmas guarantee???

I read it slowly this time and found what i needed:

Please note:
● Customers who cancel their pre-orders on the standalone PS4 console and place a new pre-order from the bundles below will not get their bundle for release day
● Customers who have already switched to a bundle and who cancel their pre-order and place a new pre-order from the bundles below will not get their bundle for release day
● Orders placed for the console bundles below from November 14 will receive their bundles after release day but before Christmas

Just do what i did and place a bundle order and dont cancel your standalone order. You can always cancel the one that doesn't dispatch first!

Yeah me too, I don't think we'll lose the guarantee. Have to go to Harvey Normans tomorrow to pay off my other pre-order and if they still say I'm getting it launch day then I'll cancel the Amazon one

ID will be required. When I asked in my local gs a few weeks ago I was told people with pre orders would be invited down on launch day. Also ID will be required and only the person with the pre order will be allowed into the store, nobody else.

I received that Amazon bundle email as well and I cancelled my PS4 order with them a month ago. I wouldn't cancel your current order with them as I doubt its for release day. There's going to be alot of angry people on amazon ps4 forums!

I didn't get the bundle email from Amazon, still have no estimated delivery date and still waiting for a response from CS as to my missing pre-order. What's worse is I've to rely on Harvey Norman on the 29th

Ok here is what I got out of harvey norman today...

they dont know if they are doing a midnight launch just yet as it is down to the individual store managers... limerick as of yet are undecided.

the news on the second batch. They are going to have NO on shelf availability for non pre orders and the second wave are going to cater for the people that have there names down as a back up for a launch day model.. which they are only going to hold for 48 hours..

Heres the good news.... if you have been told you are getting a launch day model , unless the warehouses burn down, you are getting a launch day model.

I emailed Amazon. They said
"Customers who place an order for this PlayStation 4 bundle from August 7 onwards will receive their consoles after release date but before Christmas"

So I cancelled the stand alone. Not too bothered as long as I get it by Christmas.

This was for the gamers pack by the way.

A lot of people who ordered in early October for bundles have day 1 from Amazon.

I've got the Killzone mega bundle from Amazon but no date yet, price updated today; so €525 from Amazon or I get just the Console and Killzone from Gamestop for €465.

So for €60 more I get the second controller and camera.

I preordered the standalone from Amazon about a month ago. When I found out I missed the earlier bundle selection by ringing support I canceled the order on the same day.

This evening I got that email despite canceling the previous ordered. So I ordered the gamer pack this evening. Score if I get it before Christmas which looks likely! I ordered Assassins Creed from Video Games Plus this evening as well.

Depending on who you ordered with, they might ring you asking if you want to upgrade. Otherwise you can ring in and try to get in before they ring others.

40 for knack isnt bad though, do you know anyone else getting a ps4 that might take it iff your hands?

Honestly I don't know, From what i can tell, Smyths (and probably others) seem to have little control over bundles, so if they are promised 500 consoles total, sony seem to determine the breakdown of those. I suspect you are probably safe enough for before christmas if they are offering you one now but i wouldn't want to risk it personally.
