Your Favourite Country?

Aside from your homeland whether it be Ireland or further a field.

I had the privilege to visit the Faroe Islands in June 2005 when the ROI played them in a WC qualifier. The people we met were wonderful, the quaint town of Torshavn which serves as it's capital is beautiful to experience. All the residential properties in or around the city centre have different colours, some have a grass growing on their rooftops. The Harbour is busy with Fishing boats and Merchant sea vessels 24/7, They're a maritime nation.

I got a feeling of peace and tranquility there that I haven't experienced anywhere else, and I've travelled a bit in my life. If I ever make my fortune I think I'd move there.

Hard to pick one. I'm torn between Guatemala and Colombia. Some unbelievable scenery in both. Very laid back, great people and you can find towns that are just picture perfect. Neither are too spoiled by tourism either.

Cuba would probably finish third. A special and unique country.

I love any country that I go to that is is not my own tbh.

Even going across the border from Northern Ireland into the south makes me feel like a school kid. I've enjoyed most places to be honest.

Scotland - oh those mountains
England - the country pubs
France - the vineyards, camping, ants whilst camping
Spain - the weather, the Islands and the beaches
Italy - the women
Switzerland - Interlaken

Favorite - hmm. Spain or more specifically Majorca. Found it beautiful. Could have happily stayed forever. I'm sure if I had have went to Santa Ponsa or magaluf etc then my experience would have been different.

Germany. Best football league in the world from a fans perspective, great driving roads, loads of great towns and villages, good location for European driving holidays, great standard of living and stuff is reasonable priced too. Love the food, a good beer drinking culture and all fairly close to home too. And i live my dream of having a mullet and wearing a sleeveless denim jacket and no one will judge me.

I live in Germany, so I'll be there to judge you. *judges*

Only joking. It's one of my favourite things about Germany. Saw an aul balding fella walking down the street the other day. From the top he was dressed in a nice shirt, a waistcoat and a leather jacket. He also wore a long black skirt, purple high heels and was carrying a bag. Not a bother on him.

Have to say I love Belgium. Lots of cities, nice countryside, incredibly friendly people and pretty well-connected to other places.

Stunning city you have to visit, I went on a coach tour leaving Rome which took in Florence, Pisa, Sienna and Venice, we got two days in Rome, Florence and Venice and 1 in Pisa and Sienna.

The real Italy, nothing like the soulless Turin and Milan of the north.

1. Denmark The most polite and pleasant people on the planet.
2. Australia Such a variety of scenery and my experience of the Aussies was positive.
3. Norway Spectacular scenery, nice people ( a little more reserved than the Danes ) but VERY expensive.

A friend of mine went to Germany via work. Was picked up in a gleaming large BMW and was then driven to the workplace. At one stage he looked across and the speedo was reading 133mph. He said his hair was almost white by the end.

He said they were bloody confident drivers though. Lol

Turin is a great city. Really nice city centre, very chilled and laid back and very friendly people. The complete opposite of Rome which is chaos. Milan is a dirty horrible hole of a place though.
I was in italy 3 times now, spend a bit of time touring around. Great place to visit, but i definitely wouldn't want to live there

For an all rounder, to relocate and live & work to would be the States or Canada, just like it there for some reason.

There are loads of places I've travelled to and some in the near future, if money was no object, I'd live there but alas, short of winning euro millions won't happen!

Bloody stupid drivers. Once a year some speeding pr*ck in his Mercedes (probably works for Aldi as well...) causes an accident and kills people because he think he can still drive maniacally through the fog.

Irish people suffer high road deaths due to drink driving, Germans suffer high road death due to speeding. They're not as good as they think they are.

Spain or Brazil. Both beautiful conutries with plenty to see and do. Both have laid-back, easygoing and friendly people living there. Brazil probably takes it but visa issues make it difficult to stay longer.

What part are you living? I have a few german friends and have been over plenty of times, always north west germany though. Haven't even been to the south and I still like the country!
Other things I like about it is the warm summer/cold winter seasons, you don't really get that in the likes of spain/italy. Also, christmas is celebrated properly, it's just not the same in some countries. And german women are into watersports.

Vietnam, such a diverse, culturally and historically fascinating place. Spent two weeks traveling around the country and it was the best time of my life so far. If anybody gets a chance to go grab it with both arms.

Have to agree with this. Have traveled all around France at this stage and cant actually ever remember meeting an unfriendly French person. Funnily enough I was never in Paris though - maybe thats it.

It really is incredible how different France is from one region to another with massively different landscapes. Spain comes close in terms of natural beauty but not in terms of friendliness I have to say (and I have Catalan cousins - my family is everywhere).

North west in Essen. People here moan about it always raining in the summer, but at least it's normal to get days of 30+ during the warmer months and it usually only rains every couple of days. There's a nice cold/hot balance of temperature here.

Not surprised about them being into watersports. Germans love "making sport".
