Just been going through my back catalogue of games over the last day or two and im amazed at the amount of games that show little to no difference when a second gpu is added:(

Some games seem to really be able to take advantage of the extra power but a lot dont, is this what people refer to as scaling? A few games seemed to totally ignore crossfire altogether!!

Saints Row 3 is a particularly bad offender,two 7950s and i5 at 4.4 and i cant maintain 60fps at ultra settings at 1080p!!!

Yeah, it's down to ****ty engines, or ****ty drivers. Take your pick. Do you actually get higher framerates with two cards? On rare occasions it can actually be worse.

Ye i am noticing getting higher frames. Ive tested using fraps and certain games do scale well,im definitely getting higher fps on games that seem to be better at using crossfire. Battlefield 3 would be one of them but some games it has no affect,like Saints Row 3.

I was getting the same performance with one card at 1080p in SR3,actually a little better performance with one card as i could overclock it higher as the second card was not adding heat. So some games has no affect on fps

I added the second card because i bought a 1440p monitor and one card struggled to maintain 60fps with a mix of medium-high settings and no AA.
The second card really improved performance for me in that area,with a mix of high to ultra settings and some AA (2X,4X) i can maintain 60fps solidly now at 1440p

Sad times. My 7950 wont average 60 fps in Arkham Origins. Getting in the mid 40's with most things maxed on 1080p. Now I have an excuse for a second 7950.

Have you updated your drivers recently? I assume you have the card overclocked as well.

Last time I updated was at the start of the bf4 beta. Turned off msaa completely and put on txaa on high and getting around 60-70 fps. Seems strange to me. msaa x2 drops my frames to 40ish fps. Ye it's overclocked.

I believe theres new AMD drivers today which may have optimizations for Batman AO but since its an nvidia sponsored game AMD may only have gotten a copy in the last week or so

Ah I'm not really that bothered. More annoyed that every time I leave the multiplayer portion of the game it just doesnt bother saving stats or xp so every time I go back to play I'm rank 1 again.

Ye it's good. It plays and looks pretty much the exact same as AC. I've only played it for an hour or 2 and most of that was kinda free roaming so I can't really comment on the story.

Yeah, aesthetics is definitely part of my reasoning. Strangely, I've never had the urge before now. So seeing as I'm in my late 30s, I'm putting it down as some kind of early midlife crisis. :pac:

Could anyone give a recommendation for a budget Printer. Sub €50 would be great. Scanner and WiFi would also be ideal. Not printing anything high quality. Just a few excel/word document is all that it would be needed for really.
As always, any help is much appreciated.
