Interview Discipline Question
artychick85
Hi,
I am a secondary teacher looking for advice on how best to answer the discipline question at interviews such as. . .
What do you do if a student is talking in your class?
What do you do if a fight breaks out between two students?
I always get a bit flustered because I have thought in different schools and they have different discipline procedures. What's the best answer to give in an interview?
Thanks for your help

I always say what I'd do in the short term - eg re the talking, verbal reprimand, moving seats and then move onto school discipline policy whatever that would entail - note in journal, referral slip or whatever.
Re the fighting I suppose you obviously do your best to separate it but failing that quickly send two reliable students for adult assistance.
But I'd always bring it back round to the idea of implementing their policy.
