PS4 Pre-Order Thread! Where are you getting yours?

Just wondering where boardies are going to get their PS4's? Are they going to buy it online? Buy it from the likes of Gamestop/Smyths/HMV/Xtravision? Or going Amazon/other online retailers?

Try sniffing around on the argos website close to the launch (or the morning of the launch). You can reserve for free online once they have stock in.

Can anyone explain me the "unboxing" videos? Whats the fecking point. I sow the list of items and Items themselfs in high resolution that are in the BOX! Most useless videos on youtube and I dont just talk about ps4 unboxing...

I have to say that the whole unboxing videos and some ps4 reviews make me feel a bit weird. Its still almost 2 month away! Oh wait... Its less then a month until its out in US.... Damn.... STILL TOO LONG! :pac:

Just pre-order and hope for the best.
Who knows when stock will be available for general sale.

According to various stores in Europe, they will not be getting more in till the end of January or early February, and won't honour preorders for people who preordered after September 1st till then, so your better off ordering now or it could even be later than that.

Febuary ? Cmon bro that's a bit pessimistic . I reckon most that want one will get one before Christmas pre order or not. Sony is a huge company and can produce any number of ps4s per day that it wants to fill orders. No supply would mean risking people jumping to Microsoft and a lost customer for up to 10 years .

Did anybody who chose a bundle with amazon actually have their order updated in "My Orders" yet?

All I got was the one confirmation page, no email, no update to order (although it did say it may take six days for order to be updated).

I chose the killzone bundle but mine hasn't been updated yet.

They have over 1.5 million pre orders as it stands, that will top 2 million going into next months launch, they will not be able to mass produce that many consoles, especially when they out source so many of the parts.

I hope you're not planning on just walking in and getting one, people who pre ordered before the 20th of July in store or 8th of August online are only guaranteed to get one at launch on the 29th, Gamestop will not even let you in the store if they go ahead with a midnight release unless you have a ticket, for anyone else it is as they get more stock in and even those who have been told will be guaranteed might not get a console, Smyths are only get 10-20 in most stores, 30-40 in the big ones.

You only have about 2 and a half weeks to get stock in for the rest of the pre orders before Christmas and that is never gonna happen, the lists are 4 pages deep in most stores for pre orders, and it is not possible to mass produce a console like that in that space of time.

If a person wants a PS4 bad enough they are not gonna jump to Microsoft if they have already been buying from Sony over the years and if people do it is due to the fact they were planning on getting both consoles anyway.

How do you know if someone pre-ordered before 1 September will get it earlier rather than later? Do you have a link or just heard from someone in the trade? Asking because I ordered 24 August and don't want to get the hopes up high.

It was a article from Jeux Video, the biggest video game magazine in France, they reported and quoted that the big stores in France would first not be able to honour pre orders for those who ordered after the 1st of October, then updated the article saying the 1st of September and it would be the same in Germany and Spain. I also know my Gamestop is only getting 60 consoles in for launch, 10 of those are bundles and and they have over 120 people on their list as it stands, some of whom ordered before the cut off point and unless they have cancellations will not be getting one.

I for one do not believe that sony will mess over Amazon,one of the largest retailers in the world. It still states on the Amazon website that you will get you console before xmas if you order now. I will put my left testicle on it that Amazon have a direct line to Sony and they know what they can and can not promise. With online sales falling worldwide (eBay down 29% last Q .REF :http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/8164091.stm) Amazon will be very carefull not to pi$$ off its customer base.

I have mine ordered through Xtra vision . I spoke to the manager last week and he told me that their head guy was talking to Sony and he reackoned that I will have my console for xmas ...I ordered 28th september. I too know a manager in Gamestop and he told me that it would be spring before the next wave arrives on our shores ,he was at the PS4 preview in Dublin and said he got that info direct from Sony. After reading the issues that GS are having with their customers and not knowing what their right and left hands are doing ,I will take that info as more than likely marketing hype

Due to high demand, customers who pre-ordered from August 7 may receive their consoles after release date, but will get them before Christmas. We will dispatch orders as soon as we receive sufficient stock

You will get one for Christmas, but only if they have sufficient stock to cover those orders.

Thats wrong on so Many fronts. Companies and people selling a product for 3 times the price is just wrong. There is some decent gamers out there who won't get a console possibly because of companies like this.
