Man arrested in Elaine O'Hara case

A 41 year old man was arrested in Foxrock, Dublin in connection with the death of Elaine O'Hara this morning.

I know this story was followed by a lot of people in AH.

According to the Indo, the man has been suffering poor health as of late and this stalled their raid.
They swooped in to his place at a dawn raid this morning.

Probably because he knew the net was closing in..

It may have been an accident, in which case he was very stupid to not notify any authorities.
It'll be interesting to find out if he placed those items up there with the intention of them being found.

Very interesting - they described him as a 'prominent businessman' who has never had any Garda attention before. I'd say a huge shock to the poor wife and kids.
Speculation will be rife as to his identity.

They've done all but name him. The age of his kids, his job, where he's based, his age... They mention that he's a senior figure in the company,

The Burbs eh? If it does indeed prove to be a connection through the certain common interest that the Gardaí and media have published widely the victim had involved herself with, then it is bizarre case. You never know what the neighbours are up to

You'd of thought that "if" it was murder he may have considered going abroad, especially if he knew they were going through her internet history and were closing down on the culprit

If it were the case, he still has a wife and two kids, and a house that's a lot of baggage to have to pick up and abscond without raising suspicions. Most of all from his missus!

The fact that it took the Gaurds a whole year to go through this woman's computer or browsing history is pretty baffling....surely that would be one of the first thing the gaurds or a relative would do to track down a missing person

Someone said on the last thread that the reason they didnt was because if she had turned up, then she wouldnt be happy that they went through her personal belongings. They ad no reason to suspect foul play at that stage.

What a load of rubbish, if one of my siblings was missing more than a few days, let alone over a year, I'd be checking their computer to find out or narrow then where they might have gone

I would say (purely speculatively if was indeed involved), that he was hoping they'd never arrive at his front door.

His choices were
1. Abandon his entire life and family to go on the lamb which he would raise immediate suspicion by doing.

OR

2. Sit there and deny any involvement down to the ground where he has a small chance of potentially saving face.
