BloodBath wrote: » So is your max core voltage is 1185mv? That's more than safe anyway. I run my 7970 at 1225mv. You should be able to push near 1200 on the core. Your temps are fine too. Are you checking your max temps with afterburner or hwinfo64?
Gehad_JoyRider wrote: » Right been playing metro for the past hour and no crash's at all at the above settings. its runnign at 112 fps because I play at 720p apposed 1080p Id rather decent textures and good frame speed

BloodBath wrote: » Those temps seem too low for those settings to be honest. Download HWinfo and check the max temp after every run with that. What are you testing with? You should download something stressful like 3dmark or catzilla although you have to pay or catzilla for 1080p runs and firestrike is the only stressful gpu test in 3dmark which you have to go through the other 2 tests to get to.
I've everything on the computer set to display at 720p
BloodBath wrote: » Why? What monitor do you have? No wonder your gpu temps are so low. The card is more than capable of 1080p and will not be remotely stressed at 720p.
Gehad_JoyRider wrote: » I've a dell ultrasharp. buy logic is i can play a game on almost max settings @ 720p or i can play at ok graphical settings at 1080p and struugle for decent frame rate when I get my second 7950 and a new psu ill cross fire and play a 1080p I just want to have really nice graphics and good fps and I find the best way is to have a lower res which isnt that bad.... Myabe im weird but i like high fps:)

The overclocked 270X 2gig goes for the same money  I see clockers have put the price of the card back up to £200 and the Asus 7970 top back to £240. Scan still have the Asus 7970 Top for £220 though...http://www.scan.co.uk/products/3gb-asus-radeon-hd-7970-directcu-ii-top-5600mhz-gddr5-1010mhz-2048-cores-4x-dp-dvi-d-dvi-i This has to be one of the best cards going for the money atm...

BloodBath wrote: » That's an insane clock on the core for stock voltage. Temps are great too. What is the stock voltage on that card? Have you touched the ram yet? If it's the hynix you should be able to get 1600-1800 depending on what the stock voltage is.
uberpixie wrote: » Stock voltage is 1.2. A slight boost over the reference. Ram voltages I have not even looked at yet.. One site claimed 1240 mhz core and 1545 mhz mem @stock voltages for the retail card they reviewed.
Gumbi wrote: » For which 7950? On air? I doubt it tbh. That's so high for a 7950 (it's possible on a 7970 though, by virtue of their cores being binned higher).
