PS4 Pre-Order Thread! Where are you getting yours?

Just wondering where boardies are going to get their PS4's? Are they going to buy it online? Buy it from the likes of Gamestop/Smyths/HMV/Xtravision? Or going Amazon/other online retailers?

Got the Amazon email, upgraded to the Watch Dogs bundle. Saves about 15 euro, I think the game was 52 GBP (inc Irish vat) separately, and you get it for 40 GBP.

Only drawback is I was prepared to cancel my separate Watch Dogs pre-order if it didn't get great reviews. That's probably not possible now. But for the 15 quid saving, I'll take the chance.

EDIT: I'm an idiot, if they texted you, surely they had your phone number! Why didn't the just call you and ask what bundle you wanted?

I think you can only avail of a bundle if you have pre-ordered from a certain date, when it gets closer to when you will receive the console then you can probably pick a bundle. If you're pre-odering today, odds are you wont get the console till January, so they'll probably contact you then.

Prebooked the ps4 in Smyths but I don't remember getting a receipt, i just put a deposit on a gift card and the guy took my name a details. Got a text from Smyths now saying to call in and bring receipt! Any ideas what i should do?

Call in and explain your situation - you are obviously on the system since they contacted you.

Ring ahead and tell them.

They should probably have information on their system, proof of ID would be fine i'd imagine.

I ordered mine in Waterford on 2nd August. They told me i was number 32 (or thereabouts) on their list.

Im number 55 on the list. They only took 54 previous pre orders but apparently their Smyths store is only getting 12 consoles for launch date.

Surprising because its a really large store too, even by their own standards.

Well I would imagine you heard wrong,it would be of no advantage to gamestop to hold stock back for Christmas they will be selling them as soon as they come in.

Agreed, can you imagine if number X on the list was told he could not have one until after Christmas, then someone walks in off the street and buys one? ANARCHY! Not a chance.

I pre ordered mine on the 23 july i think, and got a call from gamestop last week about the bundles, He said they had 2 so i was getting excited, he said the first bundle was the regular ps4( thats not a bundle lol) and the 2nd one was the ps4 with killzone for 440, i wanted the killzone bundle with the camera and 2nd controller but he said they were all sold out.:( .
Still im happy enough because when i asked where i was on the list about a month or so before that, I was told i was number 57 i think and they were only getting in around 40, so some people must have cancelled their order because im getting it on launch day now.:D

You heard wrong, any orders taken after the 31st of August will not be fulfilled till the end of January or early February, its the same for half of Europe at the moment.

Thankfully we will have the reviews of all games out two weeks before we get a chance to buy them, bad reviews could kill the games outside the US.

Rang Smyths and all is good, thanks fir the advice on here :-) they seem to have only 2 bundles at the mo, Watchdog for €440 and Killzone + controller + camera for €500. Is there any need for the camera? I hope the better half appreciates all my stressing out on xmas morn :-)

You also get a extra controller with the Killzone bundle, this is not included in the Watchdogs bundle, it is just the console and game, so for a extra 60 euro its well worth it.

Hmmmm, neither game really appeals to me, I was hoping it would be something like console + game of choice + extra controller for whatever extra cost (thats the way they did the PS3 when I got mine in Smyths). I guess the killzone is the better value of those bundles.

I'm the same never owned a Killzone game (until this week I got it on the vita) but I'm just getting it because it looks the best deal. I'm not sure if I will use the camera either but I would be getting the extra control and console anyway so for an extra €40-50 I'm happy to take a chance and see if I like them. I will pick up Fifa on the day

Depending on how people here and reviews are for watchdogs and the new COD might get them for christmas

Just need to remember to stop in this evening and swap my receipts around

I'm in the exact same boat. Seems like a good deal. I planned on getting one of Kilzone/COD/Battlefield anyway, the bundle just made the decision easier. The way I see it (if a controller is €60) is a game for €40 and a free camera.
Although, I have a ps3 camera and never ever connected it.
