Mr.Prodston wrote: » Hello, I appreciate the time taken to read this. I'm curious to find out just why Suarez received no Bonus Points today? In the BPS he was on 11 and then dropped to 7 leaving him adrift of earning any bonus points at all. Sturridge earned 3 for scoring a solitary goal also and I'm confused as to how there was such a disparity between the pair. If this isn't an error and won't be rectified then I would appreciate a detailed breakdown of how the BPS was calculated. Thanks in advance, Mr.P Calm, thoughtful and to the point. I'm getting rather good at this lobbying points malarkey :pac:

Players score BPS points based on the following statistics (one point for each unless otherwise stated):Playing in a game Playing over 60 minutes Scoring goals Goalkeepers and defenders (4 points) Midfielders (6 points) Fowards (8 points) Assists (3 points) Goalkeepers and defenders keeping a clean sheet (4 points) Saving a penalty (5 points) For every 3 saves For every 3 open play crosses Creating a big chance (a chance where the receiving player should score) For every 8 clearances, blocks and interceptions (total) For every 8 recoveries Providing 3 key passes Making 3 successful tackles (net*) Scoring the goal that wins a match Pass Completion (after making at least 30 passes) 70% completion (1 point) 80% completion (2 points) 90% completion (3 points) *Net successful tackles is the total of all successful tackles minus any unsuccessful tackles. Players will not be awarded negative BPS points for this statistic. Players lose BPS points based on the following statistics (one point for each unless otherwise stated):Conceding a penalty Missing a penalty (-2 points) Yellow cards Red cards (-3 points) Own goals (-2 points) Missing a big chance Making an error which leads to a goal Every 2 errors leading to an attempt at goal Being tackled 3 times Conceding 2 fouls Being caught offside 3 times Missing the target with 3 shots Data is supplied by Opta and once it has been marked as final will not be changed. We will not enter into discussion around any of the statistics used to calculate this score for any individual match. The last paragraph says it all really.

Part of the game (have Suarez as captain, would love to get extra points, but it isn't going to happen). Could have been tackled in the meantime or something like this. It is all based on the data they get, not what You think it should be.

Contrary to what I thought there is more red than green ... We don't know how much getting caught offside or committing fouls or missing a big chance is costing to the overall bonus points but I'd say Suarez last 10 min probably went against him and his 11 BPS were probably not including them so when they got updated he lost some points (though 4 points seem huge but in fairness 2 points lost would be enough to deny him any BP). Well, again, I haven't seen the game, just trying to understand the thing for future reference .
