Are you sure those figures are right?Seems very optimistic.How are you measuring it?

My sister had a '99 1.8 celica and would get the same mpg. It's a good engine. Her's was the 190 bhp version coupled with a light car and someone who didn't drive it on.

She did it from Roscrea to Navan. Navan to Roscommon etc. Long journeys and she never abused the car. (Was terrified of the power!)

I/Dad/Boyfriend used to work it out every now and again from receipts, mileage and liters.

In fact I got 40.89 mpg from the last fill from a '00 Audi A4 1.8 petrol and can get over 41 mpg from a '97 Renault Laguna 1.8 petrol.

i clock the mileage after every fill, works out at 400 miles a week give or take 5 miles or so. 70 fills the tank every week

That's a really good figure - I'm managing an average of just over 43 in a diesel. Commute is hilly but it would make you wonder what the point is sometimes.

Got a delivery from Clean Car earlier. Opened the chemical guys bottles for a sniff as they usually smell great and as herself passed by I said smell this. She has a sniff of them all and liked them so you can imagine the face when I passed her the bottle of iron-x...I'm in the dog house now but it was so worth it:D

So lads, friday the 13th really kept true to its name today, there I was in traffic and these scobes came running down through the traffic and the footpath, squirting superglue at cars :mad: they got bits of my lower door, I've gotten most of it off with polish but there's a few stubborn pieces that aren't budging, I've feck all money to buy anything so looks like they're here for the long run!

Loctite make superglue remover. You can get it in a pack with a normal tube of superglue.

Also, try your local hardware store for Tec7 cleaner. Tec7 is one of the strongest adhesives on the market and Tec7 cleaner breaks it down to remove it.

Yup! You could also try nail varnish remover on a cotton pad.
