The ref seemed heavily biased towards Cork. Free given against Clare full back for over carrying in first half after he had been fouled in possession 3 times in that same play. Clare wing back had a free awarded against him for standing his ground when he was charged by a Cork player. Michael D put Canning back in his box during the commentary over it. There's two handy scoreable frees to Cork which kept them in touch at a time when they were starting to go out of the match. His attempt to upset Clare goalkeeper before second 21 metre free. Goalie was entitled to stand on edge of square if he wanted and put 10 in the goal, it was only a free.

who is going to be the ref for the replay? McGrath got it last time after B. Kelly had the orginal final. But as some know, Barrys wife was buried yesterday. RIP.

Both McGrath and Kelly use to ref alot of our U12,14,16 amd mirror matchs back a few years.

i have to say there are some great young players on that clare team, no5 (who reminds me of Tony Browne) no 9, no 12 and no 13 look great players

clare no 8 is good but tries to do to much, couple times he got caught in possession and cork ended up getting scores after,

i agree, i like clare but that manager is a pain in the @rse

Minimum of 2 minutes Bob and the Cork lad spent the guts of 30 seconds standing over a line ball trying to run down the clock. My nerves are shot after it all and iim so hoarse I can hardly talk today. There was a few of the worst refereeing decisions I ever seen made yesterday against Clare and I wouldnt be one to blame the ref normally but what the f*ck was he thinking or looking at. The Cork fellas were barging and chopping and then getting frees for it

To fault Clare our full back is a bit clueless without the security of having Donnelan there to sweep up the breaking ball. Im not sure if Honan is still worthy of his place in the starting 15 either, another poor performance from him yesterday. Im not looking forward to trying to find tickets again

He consulted his umpires, obviously they saw what happened or no card at all would have been issued.
The free against the Clare full back was a joke.
In a tight game there is always gonna be issues, but I felt Cork got more of the decisions on the day.
Clare will be looking for a scapegoat I suppose but in reality they had enough possession to finish out the game and didn't do it.

I wonder will Davy be thinking of playing a sweeper next time and hoping this will reduce the goal tally conceeded?

Weaned some cows yesterday and they're in full voice! Separated group into bull and heifer calves about 3 weeks ago and now exchanging cows between the groups and leaving calves behind. Seems to be working ok. One more switch on Sat and that's it done for this year. Springer due in 10 days starting to show signs as well, first of Autumn calvers.

I see the Hurling replay is 5pm of a Sat evening. (28th Sept).

Davy was on clare fm this morning and said he wouldnt go back to it against them. He said Cork will punish you with the extra man. Hard to know though what he will do, I think it would have served them well to pull back Donnelan for the last quarter.

To be honest Clares brand of hurling is nice but they need to introduce a little more steel to their play. Good summary. Pat Horgan, utterly wronged in the Munster final, when he was sent off. A nothing of an accidental tap of the hurl, to opponents helmet, when trying to play the ball.
Yesterday's blow was 100% intentional, and 100% off the ball. Sorry, but that's a red card.

Apart from that there wasn't a foul play incident of note in the entire game from either side.

Great entertainment though. Replay could go either way to be honest.

I wouldnt say the Clare lads were bullied at all to be honest. The Clare half backs and midfield dominated physically I thought. Podge should have pulled on it alright but its a split second decision, he played football for Clare at underage too so I spose thats why he tried to kick it. He got 3 or 4 points from play and won as many more frees so I wont fault his performance. Our full back line was like a shambles in the second half though however they are going to rectify it for the next day.

i dont think they were bullied, just a lack of big match experience, couple of balls should have been sent long instead of trying to play (what was it we were told, if in doubt boot the fcuker out) but that experience will come because that team is around for a while, they are a breath of fresh air to hurling

i still dont know what the clare player sent that side line ball into the middle of the pitch near the end, he should have gone for the corner, but hey what do we know about hurling:D up here sticks are weapons:D

I'm going to try and have a say on the match:o I used to play it and only vaguely remember the rules, tactics etc. But I think the ref was very unfair maybe 2/3 of the time towards Clare and the other 1/3 to Cork. The clout that ye are all speculating about should have been a red card!
But you have to admit it, the Clare supporters, myself incl (c'mon the wesht) were all screaming at the tv when the free was being taken by Domhnall!

Anyway, I'll let ye all back to your match analysis!

Mad long day yesterday. Got held up on the N7 for about 90 mins with a bad accident. We were right at the back of the Hogan Stand, top tier, row Z. You couldnt go any higher. We could stand if we wanted.
Great game though. Like most people, fuming at how the ref handled things. Some terrible decisions. We would have won it with a good referee. Can't see Clare playind as good again. Cork will up their game big time, but they wont get 3 goals. Without the sweeper, Clare full back line looked very unsure when ran at. All to play for again. Must have looked a great game to the neutral. Where else would you get it?
