Couple of Vivitar DVR 480's on sale in Tesco Clearwater, Finglas today. €30.87 down from €56.99. Might be of interest to someone here. No GPS or that, but seems a good enough basic camera all the same.

Motorcyclist undertook me doing ~170km/h on the M50 this morning, while I was indicating to change from the inside lane to the middle. Wouldn't have minded, but I was indicating for a good 5 seconds before I started to move, conscious of him in the distance behind me.
Guy didn't blink and gave me the option of killing him, or moving back into my lane.

If that had have been my girlfriend, she wouldn't have been aware of just how ****ing stupid many motorcyclists could have been, and wouldn't have been constantly checking her mirror even while moving between lanes, the motorcyclist would be dead, and she wouldn't be driving ever again.

Had the dashcam running, but all you see is a bike zoom past while I blow the horn at him.

This doesn't make much sense.
Are you saying that you were travelling at 170kph in a 100 or 120kph zone?
Are you saying that the motorcyclist undertook you by passing you via the hard shoulder?
How do your 'options' come into it?

Motorcyclist 'undertook me' doing 170km/h. Put it together buddy, it isn't hard or particularly advanced english.
Inside lane is what yanks call the innermost lane/overtaking lane.
Not sure what you mean by the last question, I was midway through changing lanes and already had my wheels over the line, with the motorcyclist barreling at me without slowing.
My options were continue the lane change, and leave the motorcyclist to try brake in time/take evasive if he still insisted on under/overtaking me, or stop the overtaking manoeuvre and move fully back into my lane. And yes, they were both options - I'm not responsible for other road users who happen to be suicidal and wish to test physics personally > see the recent dashcam video of the motorcyclist who decide to undertake a HGV overtaking another HGV, and got sandwiched between them.

Really don't see anything that doesn't make much sense, are you having a bad night or something?

To be honest, I still don't understand. If you are changing lanes from left to right, and the motorbike was undertaking, then he would have been passing you on the left, and in no danger as you were leaving the lane?

Was he overtaking you?

Edit, I just reread your second post, and see you were moving from the overtaking lane back in. I would have called that the outside lane though. And I'm a yank!

Not to drag the thread OT, but how was he doing 170 in the driving lane while you were in the overtaking lane? Surely there were cars in the driving lane that would have impeded his progress?

The good thing is, at least you did see the motorcyclist ''barreling at me without slowing'' and left him room to pass. A lot of drivers wouldn't have even seen him coming.

Make sure you're carrying a red triangle next to your jack/emergency supplies in your car.

All the talk of the possibility that the BMW driver could have been stopped because of a breakdown show an exact situation where one would come in handy.

Its a ridiculous roundabout! Way too small for the traffic and number of roads/lanes onto/off it. 5 exits. 4 of which have 2 lanes onto the roundabout, and 3 have 2 lanes off the roundabout. If you're on the inside lane of someone you're almost guaranteed to be squished into the island.
