Has anyone else noticed the rise of Super Dad. They are fully informed of everything child related, take the little "guys" to all activities, of which there are plenty.

Have a smug little look, tend to dress as metro's. Love having a "coffee and chat" with other mothers

Catch a grip, no wonder most 5 year old boys are girls in all but physical form.

What is the boards equivalent of a frape? Because I refuse to believe that somebody has this as their actual opinion. It's too ridiculous.

I know them. Great kids. The father is easy on the eye too. We shared school stories over a coffee last Wednesday.

I can't figure out what annoys me more about the OP. The fact that he is offended by hands on dads that actually play a part in the upbringing of their child, or the blatant gender stereotyping that suggests that boys with hands on fathers are more feminine for the misfortune of having a father with an interest in their child.

No wonder half the little boys in the country are afraid to pick up a doll or play with a toy kitchen with these kinds of prehistoric attitudes around the place :rolleyes:

I got my son to clean up his toys by threatening to make him watch Barbie cartoons if he didn't. It worked.

I wish I could explain it away that easily. They attend an Educate Together school, so St. Patrick will have no relevance for Doras and Cathaoir.

I will look into the idea of them having swans or snakes as pets. They are so in touch with nature and the world around them.

I don't drive a jeep, I drive a Toyota Prius. But most days we cycle to school.

This country would definitely benefit from more hands on dads that care about their kids. Today I got stuck behind 2 lads of about 11/12 years of age, at most. They threw stones at flats as they passed them and even put an empty can on the fence of a downstairs flat so they could throw stones at it, the window of the flat was open and they were fearless.

Further along they shouted abuse at a classmate who was with his father, swearing and shouting as if the father wasn't present. I saw the same kids last week, 1 had scaled a block of those flats and was on the 3rd floor. During the week, after lunch I saw them throwing stones at windows in the same apartment block. Classes had started and these kids were truanting.

They even went so far as to throw stones at a man walking his dog. Frankly, these kids are pieces of s*it, probably from a long line of filth and are already a drain on society. Hell I think that whoever fathered and spawned these scumbags should have to attend compulsory parenting classes and should lose entitlement to child benefit if their kids continue to be a problem to other people.

My dad was an old fashioned kinda guy. Worked hard..came home..had his dinner went to bed. We never saw much of him..he never brought us anywhere..never talked with us, never interacted really and very unemotional. Probably very typical of the times (early 80's).

Now he's nearly 60..lots of free time..wants to spend time with his kids and grand kids...but you know what...he's taught me well. I have no connection with him..he could pass away and Id probably just be sad for an hour or so and if I totally honest it probably wouldn't even phase me..I rarely want to see him.

So..if you want your kids to love you..make the effort!
