It was a strange decision imo to stick a mk4 front end on those instead of making a proper mk4 variant. It just looks so wrong imo.

this meme face springs to mind when looking at the car -

like the whole rotten mk3 interior with the upper spec mk4 steering wheel. the whole dated mk3 bodywork with the baseline mk4 front end. the 1.8 engine with out the turbo, rolly up windows and so on...

was this car meant to be a range topper or what?

Almost called him yesterday. Just can't justify the tax. I know its only 280 odd bucks more for the year than what I'm paying now but I'm already pushed. Everytime the budget comes around my earnings seem to go down yet all my cost go up. I'm sure motor tax is gonna get it again, over a grand in tax for a car worth about the same just isn't on. Shame, would have loved it. Stick with the 9-3 for now.

No, and drove 80 miles each way to Cavan for one on Wednesday which was "running 100%". Turns out that didn't mean clutch!

My Polo was in for its NCT on Thursday, only needs a few pieces so getting them sorted and re-test is next Saturday... NCT until Dec 2014 for me when its sorted! That's pretty good Bangernomics in my book.

On the lookout for a 3dr for the interior though...

Nct is just about up and I could have had a similar car 12 months ago for 450€.

Thanks! I know I have a habit of posting cars that meet the criteria, yet aren't the may-west to look at. Regardless, I've not been stung on a car I've bought for reliability. As I mentioned above, checked out a car that was beautiful in the pictures, NCT for a year and Tax til Jan, yet it had no clutch.

I feel honoured that my car managed to make it on to the Bangernomics thread! Thanks W123-80's for the post. I have been folowing this thread for years.

Used the advice and knowledge of the contributors here when I was wording the advert and deciding what pictures to use.

Sold the car today. Best of luck to the new owner.
