Hi I have just been told that I have a new job. I have just returned to oz after 4 years. The salary is 25,000 pa. I was just wondering if that is good or poor in this country now? also on average what would I be getting per month after tax?

It good and you'll get money after tax

It's decent, livable, not great, but not bad. You'll get about 400 a week after tax.

For Ireland, it's not a great wage. Not the worst either.
But...would have to factor in where you would be living. Dublin is far more expensive rent wise for example.

actually its not great money for the job you will do. Its a pretty average but mean salary for a pa. depending on your experience you can earn about ten grand more with a decent employer

If you only have to work ten hours a week it's great, if you have to work eighty hours a week it's not so great.

There are just too many variables here for us to give you a straight answer.

Its alright. about 10 euro per hour. not too bad as long as it is not physical work and can be made fun.

It depends what you're doing and how long you have to work each week to make the 25,000. It's definitely enough to live off with a few luxuries here and there.

If you're just back from Australia you might as well take it, if it doesn't suit you can always look for something else. It's easier to get a job if you have a job.

Well it depends on what you do and your experience, min wage is less thank 18k for instance.

I was on 25k in Dublin once. It was not easy with weekend expenditure.

Decent enough wage if you are sensible with money and don't have any dependencies / loans to pay off. Depends on what the job is and what your experience is too i suppose.

I'm 31 and I'm job hunting at the moment. I have a casual job that pays me €100 net per day. I've been offered three minimum wage jobs recently two of which were short term, one of which was seasonal.

If I had a €25,000 job offered to me, I'd consider myself made...

I'd consider €25,000 per annum comfortable for one person if you don't have any kids or any serious loan repayments etc. I now only make €18,000 pa working for Aviva insurance. I made about €25,000 my first job out of college. I'd seriously love to be on that money again.
