Never played golf as a teenager but due to injury and surgery six months ago i can't play soccer until at least next year sometime so have decided to take up golf and I'm loving it so far! Played my second ever round today and after shooting a 130 in my first round last week , I played again today and after being at the range a couple of times during the week I felt much better today and shot a 112 including making my first birdie!!! ( was incredibly delighted with myself after the birdie ) Operating break 100 is underway where I aim to shoot less than 100 by next summer , wish me luck!!

Got off to a great start chipping in on the first and played pretty solid turning in level par. Played he next 3 in level par and had a horror on 13 making double which was backed up with bogey at 14. Out of nowhere I had to try hang on to play to the handicap instead of looking at going under par. Made a 3 stab bogey on 16 and went swimming off 17 and made double. With a pitching wedge in hand on 18 I flew it over the back and didn't get it up and down and made double I walked off so frustrated at what my score could have been. The greens were excellent great speed and really hard to hole anything if the pace isnt on. The course was as always top class and is by far and away the best conditions I played in this year. 79 Gross We booked it on golfnow.ie and payed €23 each (for 3) so the price was well worth it though. The bar and restaurant staff left a lot to be desired though as the whole thing felt very unprofessional and not what one expects when you go to a premium golf facility like Killeen Castle. All in all 9/10
