When they turned to thank the priest he had vanished
He has still not been identified five days on and many Catholics are speculating the priest could have been none other than Padre Pio.

Because that's what a group of highly trained first responders need to keep calm, a priest.

It's a well known statistic that if you stick a priest in an ambulance over 50% more people survive to the hospital than without. It's complete bedlam in an ambulance otherwise, paramedics are running around screaming and completly losing their heads.
