Colt 05 judders in 1st/reverse gear

Hello

I bought a 05 Colt Mitsubishi automatic 1.3 (triptonic) a year ago. (not under warranty)
It intermittently judders in first / reverse gear. Only solution is to turn off the engine, wait 5-10 minutes and somehow the transmission system memory is reset/deleted and I can move forward normally again.

This seems to happen more frequently lately.

He had to change the clutch actuator.

I bought an OBDII Diagnostic Trouble Codes device and got 2 codes, one permanently with no number given, one code is intermittent with the code P1710, which is documented @ http://www.evoscan.com/technical-vehicle-manuals/63-obdii-diagnostic-trouble-codes " P1710 Malfunction of clutch actuator "

My questions are
- can you please recommend a mechanic around Dublin 15 ( B'town, Clonee, Dunboyne, Mulhddard) for this type of issue
The mitsubishi garage is too far away and I suspect too expensive
- can you please recomment a place where i can buy a new / 2nd hand clutch actuator....in case this is recommended by the mechanic..i could not find much on the internet
note: the Mitsubishi Colt shares 60 % of its part with the Smart ForFour car...

First, I'd have the ecu scanned again by a mech to see what the permanent code thats not showing up on your device is.

I'd hold off buying a new actuator until you speak to whichever mech you are going to use, as he may be able to source the part cheaper, being in the industry

Probably wouldn't bother with a 2nd hand actuator, as they seem to be an issue, so no guarantee that it is not already shot, or that it wont fail soon after being replaced

As for the mechanic, I live in Kildare and can't recommend anyone in your area, sorry

I reproduced the issue today and got the 2 codes :

P1710 and P1710*

I had to change the clutch actuator and get the ECU updated... 364 euro +vat for the part...total = 566 euro incl tax.

Let's hope i'll be trouble free for many years....

if you are interested to fix it yourself, the actuator is the same as the one for the Smart ForFour
