I was watching the comparison vids on YouTube earlier n64 v 3ds version and as much as I love the n64 version I have to say the 3ds version looks class. Would nearly make me buy a 3ds. Is there any word on a new version of the 3ds comin out? Maybe one with a 2nd analogue stick so you don't have to stick it on and a better battery life maybe?

Retr0gamer wrote: » Not a chance. They said the same about the 3DS. You'd swear a console with a poor launch year was the exception rather than the rule going by the sensationalist games journalism.
CiDeRmAn wrote: » I guess the worrying thing is the apparent lack of 3rd party support from the likes of EA, no Battlefield 4, no Need for Speed etc. And the idea that the WiiU is selling at a low rate previously unseen. Are first party IP releases enough to get folk to buy the machine?
Retr0gamer wrote: » It worked for the N64, GC and Wii. Did anyone actually buy a WiiU so they could play the same games they can play on the 360 and PS3?
CiDeRmAn wrote: » Well, the GC and Wii were served with editions of EA staples throughout. The WiiU may get the same but the announcements that it won't do justice to the current intended releases for the PS3 never mind the PS4 and new xbox.
CiDeRmAn wrote: » The WiiU looks like it'll be exclusives all the way, but while this is cool for fans of existing Ninty IP it looks like it means the WiiU will be locked out of the next gen of software from some of the big hitters
CiDeRmAn wrote: » I think you guys are missing the point. Ultimately most of us are going to buy any given Nintendo hardware that's released, limited editions and foreign oddities not withstanding. We are not the market that Nintendo needs to sell to if they want to make profits. They need to sell to the new market they opened up with the Wii itself. They need to sell to the existing market that doesn't give a fig about a Super Mario Galaxy update, but want to play the latest blockbuster releases from the various devs. And we're not just talking about Call of Gun-W@nk either, we're talking of Bioshock Infinite, Dishonored and the like. These releases will insure that, when it is time to buy a new console, that the WiiU is considered to be a viable alternative to the PS3, 360 and hopefully the PS4 and Xbox Infinity. The latter two are guaranteed great support from worldwide software development and publishers, we'll see Capcom, Valve, EA, Konami and the rest releasing to the Sony and MS consoles as a matter of course, as well as the systems own exclusives. The WiiU looks like it'll be exclusives all the way, but while this is cool for fans of existing Ninty IP it looks like it means the WiiU will be locked out of the next gen of software from some of the big hitters. Sure, the WiiU will probably be a source of gaming experiences not found on any other console, but will that be attraction enough for the average gamer to choose the platform over MS and Sonys offerings?

Retr0gamer wrote: » The market Nintendo are after aren't into those games though. I mean it's nice to have a few third party games but you'll buy them for xbox and PS3 because that's where your friends list is. Nobody buys a nintendo console for third party games. Even johnny casual buys it for the kids or for wii fit.
CiDeRmAn wrote: » But the GC wasn't satisfied to cater for kids and Mr and Mrs Casual, they were aiming for both the Ninty fanboi, the gamer and competed for market share with Sony and MS.
CiDeRmAn wrote: » Surely the hope with the WiiU was to negate the need to invest in a PS4 or Xbox and instead hope to sell to the aforementioned Johnny Gamer.
