You are totally fine without a wrist band, touch a radiator and try to avoid working on a carpet. I was scared ****less of touching anything but the very corners of my motherboard when I first build a computer over 2 years ago!

One of them still shows up in crystaldisk and disk management, but I can't access any of the info on it. Anyone have any idea what I can do to try get it back? Might plug it into a different controller on the board just in case something suddenly isn't playing nice.
Hasn't got much of value on it at all, just be a bit inconveniencing as it's all my movies and pictures on it. Now that I think about it, it's mostly every digital image I've ever taken of value. Yeah probably do want that drive back now that I think about it!

Try a different OS. I've had success with stuff showing up in linux that wouldn't in Windows. But a different controller, as you say, or a different machine altogether might be better. You just have to be careful that it doesn't ask you to format it which it sometimes says if it's not sure what to do.

They aren't quite back to pre flood prices as I remember 2tb drives going for around €70 on hwvs but it's not far off.

Dunno what Nvidia have done recently with drivers but I'm finding way more stability with these new drivers compared to when I bought my GPU (~8 months ago). Higher clocks FTW

Currently sitting at 1280 core, perfectly stable and a few months back it would soft crash in pretty much anything at that clock, not tested out my max clock yet since its still undervolted but it wouldn't surprise me if it was higher too

Pretty cool alright. Probably takes a high end gpu just to render it in real time though.

We just need the hardware for this advanced physics now.

Nvidias strangle hold on phys-x is holding back serious physics development though. All 3 new consoles will be using amd graphics and processors and nearly half the pc dedicated graphics market. Having a physics engine that only works on Nvidia gpu's or very limited on cpu's isn't good for the market.

I don't understand why developers can't just make an engine that works for all cpu's and graphics cards.

Maybe with AMD controlling large chunks of the console market (or did they do that already?) there'll be a move towards more standardisation?

Not for microsoft or a super giant company but for what is, I assume, a normal business, that represents a fairly substantial loss I suspect.

Don't get me wrong, they're still more than likely making a large loss, but considering that they specialise in selling "gaming" peripherals, their markup is probably fairly significant.

I might have felt guilty, I would still totally have ordered a few bits and pieces for myself. :pac:

NVIDIA's 700 series details. 780 will be a cut down Titan, 770 will be an overclocked 680, and 760 Ti will be an OCed 670. 5, 4, and 2GB of memory respectively. Expected to launch sometime in May. Pricing unknown, but expected between $5-600 for the 780.

Looks like I'll be stepping up to a 780 after all!

I'll be going for Haswell, but only because I'll be changing boards anyway. (And that my 3570K isn't a great one for OCing) otherwise I'd just stick with it. Haswell is only really going to bring laptop benefits. It's main focus is on power consumption and delivery.

Im expecting Haswell to be a bit cooler as well and possibly overclock better ?

TBH if the price of Z77 ITX boards drop il probably end up going Ivy if the price is right.

Have you made up your mind on a case yet ? I have my heart set on the Prodigy unless the Matx version gets released anytime soon that is.

I have work placement in Intel over the summer so I should be able to avail of a 10% discount (or more) :P If Haswell overclocks really well this might make it a worthy upgrade over my 3570k.

No idea what temps are going to be like. I imagine with integrated VRM things might get a bit toasty. It probably will overclock a little better than Ivy, but I wouldn't be expecting miracles.

It's looking like an NCASE M1 for me at the moment. Depending on timing, I might dump my Haswell ITX build in a Prodigy for a little while (might have to sell off the current rig sooner) but I'm not 100% sure on anything yet. I also want to see what Corsair's ITX offering will look like. (though if their current schedule keeps up, it might be late Q3 before we see that)
