Panthers have a hard on for our players. Hixon is gone to them now. Kinda bummed he's gone.

We're looking at Julian Edelman as a replacement. He'd be a pretty good pick up for the right price.

Giants have signed Mike Patterson and Julian Edelman scheduled for 2nd visit.

If Edelman signs we are incredibly deep at WR.
Nicks, Cruz, Randle, Murphy, Edelman, Jernigan is an excellent bunch.

Not as sure about the DT situation.
Linval Joseph is a quality player.
Marvin Austin has the look of a bust. It's make or break this year.
Jenkins, Patterson & Rogers are back-up role players.
Markus Kuhn showed a bit of potential last year but has to bounce back from injury.

The pre season schedule has been released:
Wk1: At Steelers
Wk2: Colts (Fox)
Wk3: Jets
Wk4: At Patriots

The regular season schedule is due later this month

Payton has maybe another two years in him. and im nit sure in what level...he wont reapet his great abilty from last year..thats my take on it....and eli...well he is always great.

Be warned, he puts I into injury. The guy just can't stay healthy, it has been very frustrating for most of us Pats fans. Last year was going so well and then bang! Out he goes injured again. The only thing he has consistently shown in the last couple of seasons, was his ability to get injured. And that has scared off a lot of teams, but I would love to keep him if he could stay healthy.

We are pretty strong at WR so he is well worth a shot to add some depth. If he can stay healthy he can battle it out for snaps with Louis Murphy and Jerrel Jernigan

Eli has been working out with Nicks, Cruz and Murphy. It's strange that Randle isn't there. Also in complete contradiction to what I posted last week there are apparently serious concerns about Randle's work ethic. It may be the case that he has a prior engagement but you'd seriously think he'd be looking to get in all the practice he can. It has also come to light that Eli worked out with Randle privately in order to counter his poor work ethic. That doesn't sound good to me at all.

He wants over $11 million, we have offered $7 million. On a positive side his relationship with JayZ's firm means he wants to stay in NYC.

It could be over anything. I suspect the lenght of the deal could be an issue too. I think he'll sign a deal because he wants to be paid more than $2.5M this year.

It's been a strange FA period, first you get the kind of money Wallce got. Then you get the likes of Welker getting beans. Even though I wasn't to surprised, to see an aging slot receiver not getting the value he thought he could. But in general across all the postions, there's a lot of players miffed they never got what they thought they could.

TO.

Cruz will eventually cave and re-sign with the Giants. He wont find the contract he wants anywhere else either. He will probably do the hold out of camp routine they all do and then realise in August staying put and signing what the Giants offer is best.

If he holds out I'd get rid of him. I think he's slightly over rating himself here and if some other team wants to overpay for a slot guy then I can live with that. He's obviously been getting indications that someone else will pay him
