Trivial things that annoy you

As the title says, what seemingly trivial things bug you?

There's plenty for me, but lately its a spoon.

In the top drawer in the kitchen we have all the cutlery in one of those tray things that everyone has. Everything's in its own little section. But there's one bastard spoon doing my head in.
I have no idea where it came from or why it's even there.
The problem is, it's too big to be a small spoon.....but too small to be a big spoon. I never know what section to put it in, and every time I open the drawer.........there it is. Mocking me.

I fúcking hate that spoon.

What gets me is people who dislike food with out ever trying it, I have a few relations who are like this and if we go out for a meal it's always the same proxy place, because they won't like x restaurant even though they have never been inside the door.

I used to be like this, but slowly coming around. Fish (outside of safe stuff like cod), coffee, and pâté have been conquered. I'm not ready to take on mushrooms yet though. Gross.

The sandwich jokes annoy me. Not because I'm outraged by their sexism but because they are completely unoriginal and using them makes you look like you're completely devoid of anything approaching wit.

When walking into or out of a building and there is a person around 10 yards in front of you. They decide they're going to hold the door open for you. You then have to break into a jog to get to the door. I know they're just being nice, but I'd rather not have to start running just to help someone feel good about themselves.

In case you were wondering why they do it, the person was probably being polite and mannerly. not so much about making themselves feel good but rather being considerate of others.

Plastic food packaging - you know the thin film of plastic on top of fresh meat, ready meals etc, the ones that have an extra bit on the corner for you to peel it off? How come this never works? You go to peel it off and all you get is the border off it while the rest of the plastic stays tightly shut. You then have to grab the knife and slit through it to open it! :mad:

And of course the related one when you're queuing at the ATM and finally when the person in front gets to the ATM only then do they start rooting around for their bank card.

Until a few years ago, no one I knew used bipolar instead of the alternative. A lot of people started using it as they do not like to say manic depression, they find it too jarring. That's what annoys me, and why I said it's akin to those euphemisms. Perhaps that's just people I know though, I dunno.
