I had a great day on the beer in galway. Friends, family and gfs friends too. Didnt see any of the messing, fighting or vomiting that people are talking about. Everyone seemed on good form :-). Kids in the pub earlier but thats part and parcel of st patricks day and why shouldnt their parents be allowed to come in nd enjoy a bit of music and craic around the place. I used to love st patricks day in pub with parents and all the other kids around when i was a child. Was around the town then earlier today and its not wrecked, litter strewn and no pools of vomit. A great day all around.

Didn't wet the whistle meself.Used to go out in a shambles for it but have more sense these days.Fairly sad how easy it is to rationalize getting completely hammered purely for the day that's in it.

Can't drink because of medication I'm on. When everyone around you is well past rat arsed it isn't worth the trip into town.

I had one glass of wine yesterday. I was in a bar with a friend. There were two men there falling around drunk. One of them had kids with him. The barman had to take the man's car keys off him and phone his wife to come pick him and the kids up.

Had 5 or 6 beers which was more than I was hoping to have but was well stretched out over the course of the day, so after a pint of water and a walk with the dog this morning I was sound. I'd say there's some pitiful specimens throughout the country today though

Pottered around Dublin city and went for dinner without drinking. I like drinking and I like pubs but I don’t like sharing those experiences with the whole country.

I was expecting the city to be much worse but from what I saw people were mostly just being jolly in the cold.

Sat in with the misses had a few beers and a curry and was pretty sober going to bed and missed all the craziness of town and pubs. Few quid saved and felt brand new shampoo.

The whole falling around drunk just doesn't interest me anymore and it's overrated.

Basically I didn't get drunk!!
