Maybe nobody wants one, but i do! Its a projector and a smartphone, albeit a gingerbread os, but at this price worth a look.

I would imagine so, but you never know, they might just send them out if they have them. If CPW did legit reduce the price, then I would imagine there may be more discounts on these phones soon in other shops.

Got the phone last Thursday in a Carphone Warehouse store in Clonmel. They only had one in stock and was at the reduced price of 149 euro. I can confirm that the phone is indeed locked to Vodafone. Didn't expect much from the projector and have to say I am pleasantly surprised. I played videos from Netflix and the quality at 50" is very good, the room however has to be absolutely dark.

The build quality of the phone is great, it comes with a spare battery and a charger for the spare battery which can be also used as a phone stand.

It is meant to get the 4.1 Android update which is a great bonus, it still works pretty smooth with the LauncherPro app installed.

I hope those of you who went ahead and ordered it get it soon, you will love the phone.

That's pretty strange. I would imagine all Carphone Warehouse shops use the same internal system so the prices should be the exact same across all their stores.

I bought it early in the morning, shortly after the store opened. I checked their website a few hours later the phone was gone from the online listing, maybe that had something to with the phone having no price on it?

I got the same in my local store-they said the system was acting up & would have to charge me full price.They couldn't even put in an order online:rolleyes:

They even brought one from the stockroom to give me a look at it.Told her if she gave it to me for €149 that I'd take it but not for the full whack.

Oh dear im almost sorry i posted this. Money has gone out of my account, but isnt showing up where or what to, heres hoping they really do come through for us and deliver the goods. Tracking the order, says delivery date unavailable. maybe a prayer to st jude?

Don't be sorry, I'm thrilled with my bargain. I phoned my local shop early on the 14th asking them to reserve one for me at 149. It was out of stock online at the time but still listed on their system. That was at about 9.30am. By the time I got to the shop (around 10.30)the price was gone from their computer system but they let me have it at the reduced price after a couple of calls to HQ.

(damn my inability to resist a bargain) and my is also down as "being picked". Will more than likely sell on at cost (cause I am not a greedy person:cool:) Might consider keeping it on the (very) off chance it is not locked to Vodaphone.

You can unlock it yourself easy enough.

as far as i know you just have to root it, correct me if I'm wrong but that should do the trick. I don't see any problems doing that, but I haven't checked out the situation yet.

Also, I couldn't find the beam on any other carriers site like O2 ect , only the vodafone site and it was out of stock there. I don't know how CPW operate but could they have gotten the extra stock direct from vodafone ? If so it would more than likely be locked.

I remember my s1 and my gfs ace was locked, i rooted and put a custom rom on mine and was unlocked then, i put an original but non custom rom on the ace and it was unlocked too. Dont know if its just a case of changing the rom.
