People look at me strange

I am white Irish age 57 look normal.I wonder why do some people usually men look at me strange.
The only explanation is that I wear a black hat when its wet.I use a bicycle so I do not like to get my head wet.What is wrong with wearing a hat ??
I wonder can I put this down to discrimination.

My father has always worn a fedora for as long as I can remember, he is hitting 70 this year, people look at him strange but I think he looks cool. Nevermind them.

Yes I always liked the gangsta look at fancy dress parties
Got a handmade pinstripe and a Greek black hat at 21 still have it .
