People look at me strange

I am white Irish age 57 look normal.I wonder why do some people usually men look at me strange.
The only explanation is that I wear a black hat when its wet.I use a bicycle so I do not like to get my head wet.What is wrong with wearing a hat ??
I wonder can I put this down to discrimination.

I'm willing to bet it's the flesh colored crossbar on the bicycle that really shouldn't be there!

(though more likely it's because you call a balaclava a "hat"!)

Yes I always liked the gangsta look at fancy dress parties

I don't think it's always paranoia, well OP could be paranoid but that doesn't mean it's not happening. And OP how do you know you look "normal" you might look like the back of a minibus under a certain light.
