Going from Seannash's thread earlier here is a thread for you to post your tracks, and also for forum users to give feedback.

You dont have to like the track, but we do ask when giving feedback to keep it constructive. One liner reviews like 'track is a load of crap' are not welcome here. Give some reasons as to why you dont like it, even better give some ideas on how the producer might improve it.

Producers - Be a bit thick skinned please, remember your track isnt always going to a masterpiece. There is always room for improvement.

In thread bitching and fighting, or acting the tool Is a sure fire way to get a forced break from the forum

yeah i played the piano and bassline on a korg m3,the synth riffs were done on a novation ultranova and the rest in the box on protools

I love the drums on this. The opening bars have a kind of 'Rex the Dog' vibe which is cool. I really like the glitchy vocal sample as well. The one thing I would change is the bassline. It rolls along a bit too continously for my liking. I think if it was a little choppier it would add some real groove to the track (maybe rough up the sound a tad as well, it's almost too smooth). But hey, that's just like, my opinion man.

It's quite a laid back dnb track, not as aggressive as I was expecting. There is good foundations for a great track here but I don't think there's enough progesssion over the track to keep interest going for the duration. Maybe you should introduce some more elements, like a stronger lead line or even a couple of stabs now and then. Also at around 1.50 mark the snares and hi-hats seem to be playing double if you know what I mean. Is this intentional? For a while I though there was a second tab open playing the track a fraction of a second behind.

The basic elements are sound but it does get very repetitive as there isn't much variation in the lead piano sound. The parallel synth that comes in after the break sounds very old skool but maybe that was intentional.
I really think you need some hi-hats in there somewhere and during the build-up you have a nice snare roll going an then nothing after the drop. You should considet instroducing a snare pattern at that point.
Well that's my two cents

(I've been doing nothing but commenting on people's tracks of late but I do have one that I'm struggling to finish so I will have my own work in the firing line soon

)

I'm new to the boards.

This is my first new original production in six years. Made while getting up to date in the studio, with a new DAW, new softsynths, etc. It was a bit of a surprise to find the new issues that presented themselves working on a 64 bit platform. Had to drop my old DAW for one.

So, this track is what I'd call Progressive House, much of my old style in it, though I'm trying to move toward a more modern, clubby tip (not quite at that place yet).

I think my sound quality is still pro. Not sure how the track would fit the current state EDM though. You can let me know what you think.

As you mentioned in your post this tracks has elements of your previous style and to be honest it sounds like it was made 6 years ago. I don't think the hook on the main melody is inventive enough and the choir pad used in the breakdowns is very old skool. I think you need to shorten the decay on the kick during the main body of the song as well, as it gets a bit muddy at times.

Lucious pads on this track and I like the panning on the hits at 1.05. I think the snare is a bit wishy washy though and could use more presence. I'm a big fan of the disembodied voice samples though.
I thinnk the pads are so full sounding that you should try for a more aggressive version with maybe a D n B style percussion or breaks even.

Very nice work. Only thing is that the snare volume seems to fluctuate a fair bit at times, not sure if this was intnerional or not. Apart from that it's very nicely produced. Could easily be a background track for some kind of tv show with nice visuals.

Not sure of the piano line though as it seems a bit 'clean' compared to the more aggressive sounds that formt the rest of the track. I wasnt sure if i was overusing them or not, i kind of based the track around them so couldnt leave go. It was a very different track when i started working on it, 97 bpm, heavy pretty lights influence. I sware I blanked out for about 8 hours and when i realized what i had done, seems knife party got a word in and all

I took some of the best instruments from my last track and used them in this, and ill be doing the same for my next one. The wobble bass will probably be used

I loved it, but didnt want to change the track so much that it was like listening to 3 different songs in 5 minutes.

Mastering took the most amount of time though, trying to fit the frequencies comfortably together, easily 15 hours of listening to it over and over. Anyone have any tips?

Well it's not my scene musically but for what it's worth I would lower the volume of the kick slightly and maybe introduce a little bit of variation every now and then. The main pad is pitched very high and kind of grates a little. Might be worth consdering layering another lower frequency pad with it maybe with a touch of reverb or chorus to fatten it up a bit.
