Beezkneez!

Would love to get the 16gb version. Does google play allow us folks in ireland to purchase from it? I already have the Nexus 7 and love it so trying to figure out how i can get my hands on it. I purchased to N7 in a shop however.

you just get the micro sim like any sim and then just top it up no jumping through hoops

Phone arrived there a couple minutes back, delighted that it's finally here after using a HTC Wildfire S since my Sensation was stolen going to make sure this thing is well guarded.

Just gotta pop into town and grab a sim card for it, cheers to everybody here for the heads up & info, ended up costing €373 with P&P and insurance getting delivered from Vegas my cousin really went out of her way to get it for me.

I read a comment elsewhere from someone who said that Google are deliberately keeping stock levels lowish so as not to blow other manufacturers out of the water completely. (as they may get annoyed and stop using the google android system).

If this phone is as good value as it seems, and it were as readily available as the S3 for example, this would possible damage Samsung to the point that they may decide to do away with android. And so on for other manufacturers.

Going by the question you asked you clearly now nothing about the availability which is why I might have sounded patronizing. The only place you can buy this "officially" online is from the google play store. Obviously you can get it on ebay but I wouldn't call that official. O2 are selling it in their shops in the UK sim free for £400 I think. I only found an article saying it was up for pre-order on the US Expansys site but I couldn't find it at all on the ie and uk sites? I would seriously doubt expansys will be getting stock before Google have sorted out the backlog. Even Handtec still have it on their site despite saying that they have not been told if they are getting any stock

So like I said you can pay over the odds on Ebay or just wait until January/February when it is available again

I think i'e made up my mind that i want this phone. not happy about having to jump through hoops to give google my money but so be it.

can anyone advise if i was to order this today/next week, has the waiting time reduced or still 5 weeks plus.

I have no idea what the realistic wait times are at this stage. Mine was ordered on Dec 7th with a 6-7 week estimate. It's set to Pre-Order at the moment, so I'm not expecting any movement until end of Jan.

If anything happens sooner, it'll be a bonus.

4-5 weaker here...google just put a hold on the funds from my account. It would be awesome to have it soon. I'm away in England for Christmas and have tested it in the shops. Its a real nice piece of hardware with the screen so close to the glass compared to my ****ty HTC Desire.

Well, that would depend on how much you want to/can spend and also if you can't wait 6 wks for a phone...

... but if you're asking if the phone is worth 475e, factoring in everything, I'd say no personally.

I gave it 6 days and then followed up with an email, they replied almost straight away saying my account was re-activated! I also sent a scan of a statement which only had my irish address but they didn’t seem to care?

Are they back on sale in the play store now?

Mine was suspended after attempting to order back at the start of December. Only got it back two days ago after sending the verification docs (I sent them a bank statement showing my home address) off twice and calling the Google Wallet Office in the USA to have it escalated.

Interesting it says mine was shipped 2 days ago. It provided me with a tracking number which still has no information on it.

Hopefully they have not messed this up as well.

The tracking website should be updated by now.
