I'm thinking about treating myself to a mech keyboard for silly season, looking at the Logitech G710. I want macro keys, so das keyboard, filco and the like are out. I love the look of the K90 but the feckin arrow keys are not mech, and as I'm left handed I use them for movement in games.:(
The fact the Cherry MX Brown's are reasonably quiet is a bonus. Anything else I should consider instead?

I was going to (finally) install the cheap OCZ Vertex+ I picked up about a month ago, then I realized why I hadn't gone near it until now

It appears I wasn't planning on a new hard drive, all sata ports occupied (well, 5 occupied, 1 blocked)

If you've got a hoover that you can vary the suction on that would probably be ok too.
We've a collection of hoovers in my house and one of them has about 6 different strength settings. The lowest is great for gently hoovering the inside of my PC.

Its not a great idea to use a vaccum cleaner on a computer. They tend to build up a high static charge around the nozzle, so if you touch it against any parts there's a chance it will do damage.

Remember building up static on a balloon as a kid? Thats rubber(~plastic).

Static is just that, static, doesnt need a conductive material.

I clean my rigs with a small compressor(fitted with moisture filter).

I don't go hoovering the motherboard or anything. Just the fans, filters, heat sinks, corners of the case and that sort of thing.

Even at that strength you could stick the the pipe to the motherboard and possibly damage something, or bang into something with the nozzle. Capacitors stick out like a sore thumb.

i am so fecking regreting buying gtx680 now... its price is still 450eu for cheapest one... if i owuld have gone 7950 i could just pick up second one for only 260eu and have stupid amount of power...

Nvidia really really need to rethink their pricing as i dont understand who would in its sane mind buy gtx 680...

I would not buy 680 at this current time. back then you payed the premium for it being new tech. Its not new tech anymore, so why charge for it so much. And its not like it is the fastest card anymore.

Still the fastest nvidia card though, and it's not that far off the top. Any die hard fanboys will pay the premium, and they've probably already made their profits since release so aren't too fussed about continued sales.

They could also just be waiting for their next card release, and drop the 680 prices at the same time.

If you really wanted, you could sell on the 680 now at a premium and buy a 7950 (or two)

some people need cuda so its not such an insane buy. the 580 is better for that but then power consumption might also be an issue. i know i could probably do with one in my new build but ill be damned if im paying the going rate for one with the 780 on the horizon

Has anyone ordered from HWVS with UPS in the last few weeks? I just ordered a prodigy build (:D) for a Christmas present, but I'm not sure if it's going to get here in time. They normally take 5 working days with DHL, but this is only 7 working days from Christmas Weekend

and yes, spot on, that is the reason. We all know how blown out prices of 7970 and 680 were on launch. AMD pulled they **** together and set GPUs at reasonable price tag. Nvidia is just being nvidia.

@ Shadow; could be worse, I paid €1100 for two 7970's 5 months back, the same cards can be got for €380 ish now-that's the way it goes though.

So sorry I didn't go for an X79 board, would be worth getting a third card now.:)

indough's got a good point, why not flog it to someone who wants a 680 for CUDA friendly apps, should surely get €400 for it.. and put €180 with that & you're looking at a pair if 7950 royalKings within budget.
