Does Satan Get a Bad Rap?

He tells a woman to fight for her independence and stop her and her fella from being bullied by some bloke in the clouds.

He is sent by the bloke in the clouds to 'test' this poor bastard called Job with a horrible life. He protests to God that his treatment of Job is not very nice.

He gets an army (he is called Lucifer at this stage) and wages war on the bloke in the clouds who loves genocide, plagues and killing babies. But they lose the war and he is thrown out of heaven.

But get this, it is a smart move as he gets his own kingdom in the end.

I think we need a revision of the so called evils of this Satan/Lucifer chap. Invite him over for a cup of tea and allow him to give his side of the story.

On the whole, he seems to have only wanted freedom for humans and angels. I bet he is a decent chap regardless of the bad PR.

OP you got your facts wrong. Satan isn't actually in the bible. He is mostly made up and different characters have been linked outside the bible to connect different characters together.
If you take the bible as true satan doesn't exist. If you push it there is an angel who does things for god that are evil. He didn't do them for himself but in the name of god.

Assuming, for the sake of argument, that God and Satan exist I think Satan gets a bad rap through no fault of his own. If God is omnipotent then Satan can't do anything except what God wants him too; if he were able to go against God's will then God wouldn't be omnipotent, so everything bad that 'Satan' gets the blame for is actually the will of God. Satan is God's whipping boy.

If you're referring to hell. The Bible doesn't teach that Satan is lord over it. Revelation 20:10 says that the devil is in hell, not as lord over it, but as one who is being condemned.
