Discovered the 307 needs a new timing belt, water pump etc, as the water pump is failing and also it needs the head gasket done for the second time..

nice bill just in time for xmas.

Not loosing coolant, but there is an oil leak from the top end.

Well big thanks first off to Voodomelon for recommending this kit, as stated the kit itself isn't as fast as factory spec seats but give it a couple of minutes and the seat is nice and toasty...a worthwhile mod on any car and one that'll follow me from car to car in the future. I had this all in and ready to go last weekend so all that was left to do was wire into fuse box this morning.

Below is sort of a how to / how I did it..I didn't include wiring, etc as I have an live and switched aux fuse box...it is however recommended you put this on a switched circuit.

Quite impressed with the kit though.

Remove seat out of car (2 plastic covers and 4 bolts)...remove seat belt if attached to seat.

On the driver side the base is adjustable its just a matter of removing the circlips with a small screwdriver.

Next step is to remove the base seat, theres a small screw is behind the seat handle.

I couldn't get the handle off the design was different to other MR2s...I was able to get around this but pulling the plastic forward

Its hard to remove the backseat from the frame so just work around it.

Turn base upside down and remove seat fashenings...a small screwdriver and needle nose pliers for this

Mark out the heating pad...some pads will need to be cut but it fitted the MR2 just fine

Once all the clips are removed be gentle with the cover...squeeze the corners to loose the fabric

You can remove the entire seat cover but it involves moving alot more clips so I was able to get the pad in just moving the pad inwards...the cable is easily fed to the bottom

I used the orignial clips for the front and back but it can be tedious so I used cable ties on the sides.

Didn't document the other part of the seat as well but all it involves is remove the few clips in the pic and sliding the pad in (dont worry its nice and tight! I wasn't brave enough to remove the entire cover.

Mounting the button...just need a 20 wood bit and some duck tape...it makes a neat hole

...proba a good a time as any to clean the seats!

Best place to bring the loom is is through the seat belt mount hole in the carpet

Switch in situ....

Its a lot of work...your advised to do this in stages if you need the car all the time like me..

I think you are meant to remove the wheel arch liner to get at the bulbs on that side. Jack, wheel off, off with the liner, change bulb

Those heated seats are great but will they work just as good with a standard material that's not leather? Would be a really nice addition with parking sensors (and finally adding all those extras that most Irish people tend to skip when buying a new car).

Installed a new Bluetooth stereo my mam gave me for my birthday, along with a neatly installed mic for it behind the corner pillar. Then returned my old stereo to halfords and got a full refund as it was a bit dodge... Massively took the sting out of buying a new Bosch silver battery while I was there! No more worrying if the car will start anymore!

....first long run this morning with the heated seats this morning, they are fantastic...I dont even need the heater on in the car, great for this weather.

...like you said above up speccing the car...future mods for the MR2:

* Electric Folding JDM Mirrors - Have these in a box, just need the weather to install

* Alarm auto window up / fold mirror (on alarm activation) - Have the module again it'll be done when I'm doing Mirrors

* Auto Dim RVM - Have something up my sleeve for this.

* Glovebox light - not a complete necessity but for some reason it doesn't have one??

* Gas Struts for Engine cover, Frunk and Boot

GREAT news in from my mechanic - had it in to give it a full service before the winter really kicks in and even though it was done in March of this year and has only went a few thousand KM's since, I felt I needed to because it was sitting up a few months before I bought it since the original owner emigrated - its all fresh now.

Anyhoo, I kept getting a nerve wrecking knocking noise from under the body (like something hitting the chassis) at low speeds or taking off (and I kept thinking please please please don't be steering motor or gearbox). I needed new gearbox seals because there were shot and turns out I lost an awful lot of gearbox fluid at some point or even before I even had it because it has dangerously low levels. Thankfully, that's been topped up and new seals fitted (€10 for two - gotta love Fiat prices) and it's getting a few miles put on her tomorrow so make sure all is ok / no leaks and I'm pretty confident it will be.

Knocking noise is actually suspension related - pfew! A bearing is gone / worm on the top of a shock but thankfully I'll be buying some lovely JOM Coilovers in a few weeks prior for €250 to compliment my upcoming alloys in the New Year and that will naturally replace / rectify the issue so happy fooking days!

JOM's wont compliment anything. Gary ITR knows his stuff when it comes to the likes of coilovers and he always advises against them.

I have heard people say the same about Jom's but they are in the Toledo with 12k miles now and not a bother on them.
I suppose it depends on if you take it handy or drive the crap out of the car.

Well if I had a 4WD 2.0T I would put a bit more money into them but I think my beastly 70HP 1.2 GP will be ok

What's the point of upgrading your suspension so that you can "take it handy"? Standard suspension bits are well able to deal with "handy" driving.

Today i changed the diverter valve to a revision "G" version before the remap.

Took the other one out and what do you know, it had a big leak!
Car feels so much better after the k&n and the new DV

Yup mine was doing that, and also more recently you could actually hear a hissing kinda noise that went on while you put the foot down which would probably indicate it was leaking!

I got mine from the local skoda dealer for 48 inc vat, so may as well do it for that little.

I had my mechanic buddy do it, but was a 5 minute job

Well in my case it's just to balance out the height increase (on an already high suspension of the Grande Punto) from bigger alloys being fitted.
