I can't work out how they bent though. and it wasn't 4 next to each other, it was here and there type thing I think the board will be rma able though. its not a win cause its 2 weeks without a board, but it does 'save' €120. I'll be making an order from HWVS soon. what are the chances mindfactory.de will offer a refund and we just get another one from HWVS? could cut down wait time. I've made an offer on a board on adverts.ie that might not be working. if it does though I'm only €20 out of pocket and not much more down time. suggestions?

I actually don't know how the pins got bent, because the CPU doesn't push into them, it pushes onto hard plastic tested it with known good RAM and still nothing. I'm running out of ideas now. I wonder if the board was slightly dodgy when we got it. it wouldn't OC at all really without a blue screen no matter how much voltage I put through it, and that was before even pushing the CPU in prime95.

Did it myself before with an i5 750, dropped the chip sideways into the socket and the corner bent a few pins...I used a tiny (<2mm) facom flathead screwdriver and coaxed them back in line, worked fine but it was only 4-5 pins. How bad is the damage?

What you can do is move the entire steam folder to whichever drive, and run it again. Close it, then drag whichever games you want on a different drive to that directory, and when you open steam again, it should show up as not being installed. THEN install each game again to the directory you've moved the game to, and verify the integrity of the files. It'll take a while if you need to shift a ton of games around, but it's the nearest thing to official you'll get
