im looking for a wedding venue in wicklow or kildare
has anyone any sujestions or recomendations
i like the glenview hotel would like other venues to look at to, to get some ideas

check out the following list below (from memory so sorry if Ive left anyone out). they all have good and bad points, most of them are good. youll always find someone who had a bad night somewhere so dont worry about that too much unless you find a few bad recommendations for a venue.

Should be something for every budget in the list, a phonecall to each will guide.

I will say the Glenview is a great spot for a wedding though, at least as good as any of the places below for me.

We just booked our wedding in Leixlip House Hotel for August (this year :P)

We just booked our wedding in the old darnley lodge for sept! Small cosy hotel, fantastic food, reasonable drink prices, plus we get the whole place to ourselves for the 2 days! The room itself is beautiful with a garden just off it perfect for photos, not just your average function room if you know wat i mean :rolleyes:. The hotel manager is extremely accommodating, would definitely recommend.

Ill give it a go. Again, apologies if anyone got left out. Meath is very big you could be talking over an hours drive between venues. I've traversed the county a couple of times in my head so they're not in alphabetical or geographical order.
Should be something for every budget below. Take ya an hour or so to google them all and put budgets beside them to narrow them down.

I hear ya, there's some venues in that list no matter what your budget is. 20e a head or 130e a head. (or more).

35-65e per head seems to be the midrange. You'll get a good night out of that from more than one of those places.

anything over that seems to be upper range. likes of tankardstown, bellinter and ballymagarvey are in the 90-130e range per head.

you need good food and entertainment and ya dont want it in a complete kip but what separates a good wedding from a great one is the guests. every time. Dont forget that.

I know, we started out with very grand ideas and came back to earth with a bang when we started looking around and pricing venues. We're looking for somewhere nice but don't want to spend a fortune on it. Good food, good entertainment & good people. This is what we keep being told makes a wedding!

We're based in Ashbourne and we're hoping to do it for max 60e a head. I don't suppose there's any places from your list you'd especially recommend?

Are most of the crowd coming from ashbourne?

Thanks that'd be great. One side coming from Dublin, the other from Navan. We're getting married in a church near Ashbourne so we're hoping to keep it wihin an hours drive. Who knew there was so much to consider when planning a wedding and this is just the beginning :eek:

I'm getting married in Boyne hill house next week, just outside navan.
A weekday wedding there (what were doing) might fit your budget?
I can't fault them so far. Lovely lovely people, gorgeous venue and the food at the tasting was excellent.
