A Chinese man sued his wife for tricking him into marrying her under false pretences, after she had extensive plastic surgery to alter her appearance.
He described their newborn daughter as 'incredibly ugly', decided that there was no way that the child was his, and concluded that his wife must have had an affair. She eventually told him that she was responsible for the child's looks. She admitted that she had undergone extensive plastic surgery (costing €77,000) to drastically alter her appearance, prior to getting married.
Mr Feng has since been awarded $120,000 from his wife, as a sympathetic judge agreed she had tricked him into marrying her under "false pretences". Since his wife used intense surgery to drastically alter her appearance before she met Mr Feng, and since she never told him of it, the courts determined that she had convinced Mr Feng to marry him under "false premises," and thus sided with him.
