Memories of watching Eurotrash in the 90s

What are yours?

In the days before internet porn, Eurotrash was the best thing around. I was 13 or 14 when I first heard about it. Mate of mine who was a renowned bullsh*tter started going on about a tv show where a girl had "Tits the size of beach balls". Naturally I didn't believe him, but still had to check it out, on the off chance it was true. Watched it once and Jaysus was I hooked. Never doubted him again

. These are some of my best memories:

Watching it with one hand on the remote, ready to switch channel when someone came into the room. Used to always switch to Sky News cos that was "safe". Except one time my Mam walked in, I quickly switch to Sky and by some absolute fluke they were doing a report on teenagers watching porn.
Recording it for watching later. I got an old VHS tape of a football match and recorded an episode or 2 after the match. Then I'd rewind the tape and label it "Man Utd 0-0 Liverpool" so no one would ever watch it.
One time I was over at a mates house and we were watching tv in his kitchen, which was showing the feed from their skybox located in another room. His (rather conservative) mum was in the kitchen too and was making some comment about the show we were watching when all of a sudden the channel switches over to Channel 4 and its showing a girl measuring fellas d*cks with a measuring tape. Turns out his sister was a fan of the show too!

Playboy 10 min teaser every midnight on sky. When I stayed in my friends house we used to sneak in to watch it. One night we didn't realise his dad was recording something though and we flicked it on, watched and reverted back to the original channel. The next day he says to us "I recorded the assassin last night, I know you're not old enough but you can watch it with us if you want"

We ran to the sitting room and say on the couch beside his mum and dad and sister. Around 25 mins into the movie the channel started to change and his dad say "ah Jesus, who was messing with the telly"... Que 10 mins of utter silence as the playboy 10 min teaser starts.

Nobody changed the channel, and nobody spoke, we just sat there sweating and waiting for it to end. When it did, his mother just said "we'll that was interesting" and his sister broke her heart laughing at us.

I also remember the Red light zone weekends on channel 4 & the many foreign films.. which i would set the timer on my VCR in my room to record as they were usually on at 3 or 4 AM.. get home from school then the next day and watch it on fast forward to look for the elusive bit of boob or even better bush

But talking about VCRs .. they didnt half make some noise.. when you were watching something ilicit in your room late at night they seemed to make a noise like a jet engine during take off.. especially during rewind!!

Haha it's funny to hear how many people were in the same boat as teenagers pre-internet.

I remember RTE Airtel had reviews of all films on all the terrestrial channels (including BBC, UTV and Channel 4). I used to read the reviews and look out for the word erotic.

"Erotic Drama" or "Erotic Thriller" was enough for me to tune in. The films themselves were usually ****e, though, but there was just about enough nudity to make it worthwhile.

But yeah, Eurotrash was the only guaranteed nudity I remember. Me and my friends considered it porn.

I remember TG4 always had a foreign film on Friday night after the Western. Was the best thing ever when I was 10-14.

Yes, it was called After Hours

It was shortlived though - it was first broadcast in January 1993 (after ITV switched Teletext operators) but lasted only a month or two.

We didnt have Men and Motors back then because we had one of those old multichannel boxes. Bravo would only come on after 12:30. Eurosport would be on til 12:30 and then it just flicked over to Bravo.

Our Sky box was in the living room but the TV in the kitchen had a channel programmed in that could watch whatever the person using Sky was watching. I was caught watching Eurotrash so many times, as well as Sexcetera and those various programmes on Bravo. I'd hear a shout from the kitchen "TURN THAT OFF" and I'd sit there morto for the rest of the night

My main memory of Eurotrash is a programme with a group of hippies who lived in a commune and believed that eating their own poo gave them better orgasms :eek:

Used to be on Living TV late night when I was about 14 or 15. Far as I remember it was real shagging (not shown in detail obviously), but with a sort of soap opera type set up/ plot and romantic type music while she was getting pummeled.
