Headphones are generally superior when looking for audio quality. Sure, they won't shake your house apart, but they allow you to hear very fine detail that speakers won't.

if you remember i would be the one who would put sound quality in low bracket of priority pyramid.

my old logitech 5.1 works briliant. on board sound sounds great for my needs. Plus with having speakers i can hear other stuff happening outside too. so i can hear phone, doorbell, dogs eating my slippers etc. If i need to AFK, i just stand up and walk away!

Plus i hate something sitting on my head and pushing down on my ears for a long periods of time.

though i do realise people have a need for headphones as a product, though that product is deffo not for me. I still laugh though at people who spend over 250eu on headphones to play COD on xbox...

I got the Sennheiser HD598 in the end, superb headphones. Im not doing them justice at the moment because I need a sound card and watercooling going

If you have Eircom broadband you don't need a modem? Modems are only used for old dial-up.
Once the router is a DSL router it should work fine with Eircom

Lol no. Its still a modem, its just built into the router in most cases, like when you say a DSL Router you mean a Router/DSL Modem Combo.

feck, i really have a craving for a laptop lately... playing some eve online in bed sounds like a freaking great idea...

was thinking of making myself a new years present a new phone, but new iphone is soooo meh ( played a bit with it today ), android looks like have more slowing down problems then android people want to admit and new lumia 920 is waaaaaay overpriced... so i might stay with my 3gs and look in to laptops...

i am just wondering do people here have any experience with laptops? i dont even know where to look for it. komplett.ie looksl ike has a very nice range. those new medion laptops are damn great.

will need to look in to GPUs world now too.

If you just want a few games here and there you'd be fine with an AMD Trinity laptop. Like if you didn't want to spend much. ~€500-650.

If you were a bit more serious about it, I'd take a look at scan's pretty cool range (of Clevo) laptops -

i was wondering about trinity laptops, do we have any of them for sale already? where would you recomend looking at laptops. i dont know my budget yet, i see how much can i save up up untill xmas.

wow, that A10 looks like a nice we thing for 600eu! it does use that CF gpu/cpu setup too. it should not be too bad! though aint that a bit low resolution for 15.6?

It's standard enough to have 1366 x 768 resolution for a 15''. You generally have to be in the >€1000 region for 1920x1080.

Still, I suppose it means that you can run most games well in native resolution.

i have to say mobile GPU did made some leap in performance... 650m 670m and this APU looks like able to handle some serious games. i am really impressed.

Got my 7870 from Amazon delivered to work. The picture of "yer one" all sexy on the front of the box is embarrassing and gross. I'm a PC builder not a hornball who needs that crap on everything I own. Its gonna be a long day until I can get home and install it, cant wait that long
