Car jacker shoots himself in head live on tv

There was a car jacking in Arizona, as usual they had a tv crew up, the guy got out of the car round for a few yards, and shot himself in the head. All live on fox news. Of course Im sure he didnt know he was live on telly at the time

Shepard nearly had a heart attack, he was roaring ' get off get off ' to the crew.

Not being funny & I know this is AH! but still being viewed by youngsters who probably shouldn't. That was a little warning for people that may not have seen anything as graphic before or anything as serious IRL to be prepared. I knew it was going to happen but still jumped as it even shocked me when it did happen, but thanks though.

It's actually quite poignant when you read the back story.
But yes it is definitley better suited to an 18+ audience.

Have you actually watched it? If you don't think it's gory, then I wouldn't want to see what you classify as it. What made it most shocking is it was far more so than anything you would have seen on TV or in movies.

It's recorded from a helicoptor, the camera isnt in his face or anything. There's no blood or anything, just a man falling to the ground. Thats not graphic or gorey, unless there's multiple angles of it going around.

There are two different shooting incidents being talked about now.

One from a news helicopter where you see next to nothing except someone falling on the ground.

The other of a politician in the '80's shooting himself in a news conference, the camera is a lot closer and you are left in no doubt about what happened.

It was probably directed straight at the camera men and production crew to cut the feed when he copped on to what was happening - notice how it cut to an advert break just after he said it.

He meant get off the live feed...i.e. dont broadcast the shooting, but he was too late.

Saw the Budd Dwyer video a while back. What i found funny was that, because of movie violence, watching the real seemed surreal. That of course confirmed to me that reality is not somewhere any of us really live.

Ah, Humanji.. the vid wasn't graphic at all. Why delete it? I know I shouldn't be asking here but whatever.

He shot himself in the head and fell down dead.. that's not graphic. It's what is outlined in the thread title.

Some comments in AH are far more graphic than that video. They call for acts of violence that would be viewed as much worse than what is shown in that video. I'm sure that some of those comments don't need to be pointed out to you.

The vid wasn't anywhere near as gratuitous as the wishes and fantasies espoused regularly by some people on AH.

What about that guy that was shot dead by a couple of NYPD officers a while back? Or the throngs of South African miners that were gunned down by Police?

I dont know how many movies i have watched where people have been stabbed, but seeing the real thing was absolutly horrifying. I couldnt get the image out of my head for months.

That Budd Dwyer clip has brought that image right to the forefront of my mind.

Have a wander into an Abbatoir some time. Watch them shooting Cattle or pigs. I was dragged in by my auld lad as a kid, a lot - he worked in one. Suddenly, nothing much else is very shocking at all. As in nothing.

Think it's probably because when you watch it in the movies, there's a certain amount of disillusionment and detachment due to the fact that you know it's not real, that that person was OK. But with things like that and the Budd Dwyer video, you realize that it's real and you don't really have the detachment.
