It's pretty much all because of this court case here:

Nintendo didn't clear any of the samples used.

Hip Tanaka was interviewed recently at 1up and was asked about Earthbound and he was really coy about talking about it and said Nintendo didn't want him to talk about it but said the music was what was holding back the western release of the game. It's a shame because he did something really original with his use of samples in game music, something that had never been done before. That court case pretty much put a stop to heavily sampled music genres like Hip Hop as well. I think Instead we got **** like Puff Daddy ripping off an 80's classic instead of real artists making something new out of samples.

He does create something different with his samples in earthbound so it's not a complete rip off and I consider it one of gaming's finest soundtracks. There's about 250 unique tracks in the game which is an incredible amount for a 16-bit game.

Well most artists if they learned of a near 20 year old videogame using samples of their songs would probably not care. The Beatles copyright holders would be the type to have their lawyer team on Defcon 3. Just look at the legal feud with Apple and how long that lasted.

I've been on the lookout for awhile and only now have I come across a mint in-box example.

If anyone is playing PS1 games on the PS3 make sure you turn off the upscaler in the options. Was playing Gaia Seed and it was really dark and murky and the aspect ratio was all wrong. Turned the upscaler off in the options and it looks so much better, colours are bright and vibrant as opposed to barely visible and the aspect ratio seemed correct.

Jeremy Parish did a big piece on it before on 1up but can't find anything. I don't think he necessarily stole music from any of the prog rock bands but he's definitely heavily influenced, he's said so himself. Sure listen to dancing mad, a 18 minute song on in a SNES games, nothing says self indulgent prog rock more than that!

Yeah I've seem them online while researching this Neptune case project and a few others thought the same as you.
Someone ordered one but unfortunately its actually very small.

I always figured someone would take the lazy route of case making, by only making a mold of the Neptune that would fit with the bottom half of a Model 2 Mega Drive, since it has a similar footprint...but then I saw this in the DIY Neptune thread.

Not retro or anything but just noticed this on the latest version of iOS.

It's a bit worrying on the security side when you link your Facebook account to your contacts on iOS 6. Any phone numbers you have in your contacts will update with Facebook profile pics, email addresses, full names and whatever else the person has on Facebook.
That's all fine for people who you're Facebook friends with but it even does it for any number you happen to have saved on your phone!!

Although she's changing from acrylics to oils this weekend after much consideration and Bob Rossification so it might not be the best time to task her with it.

It never did it for me, was it an option or something?
Now that Facebook is deeply integrated into the OS I see many security concerns over the next while. It is handy to be able to post from the notification centre but I've disabled all the other fancy integrated stuff.
