Have you ever used a camping stove ? Even gas / hexi or gel stoves leave the outside of your pots and pans manky its part of camping / survival

If you order on-line it does come up as 30 pounds. But, this is wrong. It's only 15 pounds. I said 7 by mistake earlier.

If you phone them they will give you the correct delivery charge.

When you place an online order, there should be a part where it says something like 'pay by phone'. Do this.
You will be given an order number on your confirmation e-mail.

When you ring the company, give them this number and ask 'are you sure it's 30 pounds delivery'?

I'll give you the name of the girl I've dealt with, on Monday, if you have any more problems.

With Military Mart in Liverpool I again phone them and say (nicely) that I want to order stuff but the delivery carges are putting me off. Is there another way.... maybe by standard post..?

They weigh the stuff there and then and will give you the new (better) price.

You can also to see if it's worth your while by checking the Royal Mail website.

Hehe water will always stagnate if it ain't moving. But the big kinda buzz around bottled water now is that if its left in the bottles for such long periods of time it actually starts to leach stuff from the plastic its contained in.

Ah water if its kept in a dark environment with a few drops of chlorine in will hold forever. True enough about the plastic leaching though, I keep mine in a couple of food grade barrels.

Years of experience cooking with gas, petrol and hexitabs (occasionally). Never had a dirty exterior with those fuels, tbh.

Agee that dirty pots are not an issue in a survival scenario.

Transparent plastic, like PET and Nalgene, can leach toxins over time. Solid (thick walled to prevent microscopic fractures which increase the chances of leaching) plastic food grade stuff doesn't.

You should look down the chimney of a Kelly Kettle after a season of pine burning, you could use it to re-tarmac your driveway.

The great outdoors are a messy place though, better to embrace it and have a hot cuppa than run out of fuel miles from anywhere.

sorry not to derail the bargain alerts probably better in the rain water barrel thtread, but even out of date water could be used to was off contaminants, for washing, pet, watering plants etc, so it's never a dead loss.
