I always thought it was dubious as to whether Lenin had ever been to Ireland, but he did learn his English from an Irish tutor.

It was said that Lenin spoke English with a Rathmines accent (which at the time, would have meant the accent of GB Shaw, a Dublin accent coloured with 'received' English)
