Tweebs wrote: » Hi all, I'm new to to this thread and was hoping someone could help. Got two of these nifty boxes fitted yesterday. Never had any satellite boxes before so all new to me and am having a little problem with the timer recordings. External powered HD formatted as NTFS. When I set the Timer to record, it changes the channel as I expect but afterwards I cannot seem to find out where it has recorded to. Even when you are looking at the channel list, the one you set on timer does not appear red as it does for other recordings. Recording as it is playing is OK and I find these under the record tab but nothing there for the ones I have set on timer. Hope someone out there with a bit more knowledge can guide me in the right direction. Thanks.

Donegal Surfer wrote: » Its strange that some way of downloading a 7 day epg update has not been devised for these systems. On the Blade BM7000 there is a channel listed as '7 day epg'. You select this channel and it downloads the info required and then you click to apply the info to the boxes epg. As far as I know this is a channel broadcast by sky on Astra 28.2. Why can't the Ariva manufacturers just add this as a channel listing also to pull the info down from to save to a memory device and then pull from there when browsing the epg. I'm sure there is a reason why this isnt on the system but I cannot figure it out. I wonder what would happen if I got the transponder and frequency etc. of the 7 day epg download channel on the blade and applied it to the Ariva????? Maybe I am wrong and it pulls the info down from the net but I will look into this tonight when playing with the system. By the way- I unbricked my system again this morning via a null cable and have the Newcamd working again. All entered in the UI on the box with the remote. No need to save a Cline file to a usb. As the Meer cats say......... "Simples!!!'
STB wrote: » The Blade 7000 isnt a combo though, which means no Saorview. The combo version of that box that is available is DVB-C only, so no good. And what they have implemented on the Blades is the same as what they have done for the Technomates (which is no surprise as both the Technomates and Blades are made by Hubtech in Korea - same software, diffrent bootloader). A little API patch to load the Sky OpenEPg data, thats all they have done. Nothing will happen for the Arivas's as the Technomate patch hasnt and couldnt be applied to it, without rewriting it. It wont load by just going to the transponder frequency. You cant brick the Ariva's as the Rom is protected.
