If your gaming your left hand is in a different position and your right hand isn't on the keyboard at all.
I think it's perfectly reasonable to want to look down to see where ';' is. Flying is playing ArmA 2 right now and there are plenty of important buttons spread around the keyboard.

It looks cool. I assume thats why most buy backlit boards. My 510 is backlit but I have to set it to dark green(not so visable) or it gets hot to the touch in places. It is handy for finding your positions quickly in the dark at times, but most of the time is just aesthetics.

It's a good Mechanical keyboard for the money. I just think it's a bit ugly looking though. If your getting one sent from the US then look at the Ducky Shines http://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=87

Edit: The cost to get them sent out is around US $50.

Its actually for protection vs sheen, and cleanability(thats actually a word according to chrome

).

Yep. Its pretty well optimized too, works really well on my ancient laptop.
