By John Williams I heard Spielberg in an interview, John Williams was new in Hollywood at that time and recommended to Spielberg by George Lucas. He said John entered my office to present the score. He sat down at the piano and start hammering out 2 keys. I thought the guy was nuts and wanted him to leave. But he kept saying can you not hear it. It was only when he left I got it and it became the shark we couldn't show.

I have many favourites; it's too hard to choose between them. I played violin for the Cork Youth Orchestra when I was a teenager so I really got to experience a few pieces in all their glory, for example:

As well as that, we played the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack. This was absolutely the most fun I've ever had playing in a group.

In Cork School of Music's Orchestra we also played the classics, like Mission Impossible, James Bond, Star Wars, but I'd imagine it was very expensive and tricky to buy in new sheet music so that was left to the orchestras like the CYO, where those with the most passion exert their own free time and energy so that young people can enjoy making amazing music together (as opposed to those in CSM, who are probably mostly there because they're being paid).

My personal favourite music scores to just listen to are Hans Zimmer's Batman soundtracks:

Jonny Greenwood from Radiohead's "There Will Be Blood" soundtrack:

(Definitely the best song on the album).

And basically all of the soundtrack to the musical "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street". Helena Bonham-Carter and Johnny Depp really did that play tremendous justice.

This completely slipped my mind; that film has completely shaped an entire facet of my music taste. I didn't bother downloading the soundtrack, I instead downloaded the discography of all of the best bands in it - Creedence, The Eagles, Kenny Rogers, Dean Martin... The Dude (and by association, Ethan and Joel Cohen) has some excellent grasp on stoner music!
