Shindaiwa Strimmer Died

I have a Shindaiwa strimmer, but the other day something went "boing" inside the carburettor and it refuses to start since then.
Does anyone know a place that specialises in Shindaiwa?
It's a fairly big yoke, something like a 35 cc petrol two stroke engine in it.

Will give both a call, the dealer might be a good place to start because it looks like it decades since that carb was serviced and it might need a rebuild kit.

do a little test first.lift the strimmer off the ground by the pull cord and see does
it just about hold its own weight or does it drop steadily.if it drops steadily you
have compression issues and time to chuck it in the bin:mad:

Compression is fine, there's good resistance from the string.
As I was strimming, something went "boing" in the carburettor and it died.
So the issue is inside the carb.

I walked in, had a look at a price on a mower, stopped, did a double take, couldn't believe my eyes.
Checked another few prices just to make sure I wasn't seeing things and walked out again.
My guess is that everything they sell is made from solid gold, painted to look like ordinary, bog standard gardening equipment.
Otherwise I cannot find an explanation for the prices they charge.
Will try Desmond Foudy instead.

OK, update.
Actually went to Limerick, since I had a ton of stuff to do there and just lumped everything together.
Went to a guy on top of William Street, left the strimmer with him and he said it will be three days.
Three days later I came back and was told "It's fcuked mate, shaft is knackered, piston is knackered, cylinder needs re-lining, the carb needs to be replaced with a new one, it's not even scrap"
I asked him if he wanted to keep it for spares, he said no.
I was a bit suspicious of what I was told, I knew compression is fine and he said "If you pour petrol into the cylinder, it will run straight out the bottom", so that immediately set off my bull**** detector.
Walked around a bit in the area to see if there are any other repair shops and stumbled upon a guy at the top of Thomas Street that had a Shindaiwa sign on his shop.
Left the strimmer with him and hoped for the best.
Got a phone call the next day and was told "It's fixed, loose fuel line, otherwise it's in good working order"
So, if you have any gardening equipment to be fixed, do NOT go to a small repair shop on the top of William Street. I'm just amazed the guy didn't wear a 10 gallon hat and a pair of six shooters on his hips.
However, if you have any Shindaiwa equipment to be looked at, Thomas Street is your man.

That's the mad thing, he doesn't sell in that shop, only repairs. He didn't want the strimmer and he didn't charge me for looking at it.
At the beginning he asked me if I had taken it apart, to which I said "yes", because I have. Many times. That thing gets filthy and sometimes there's crud in the petrol and the carb needs to be cleaned.
So I think he decided not to look at it, he must have thought "That idiot wrecked it and I'm going to teach him a lesson".
